    L175 issues and questions

The L175 and L185 and others in the "old L series" used a thermo siphon system. The radiator must be clean inside and out. There should be a "whistle" on the radiator overflow that sounds off if it is overheated. Overheating can/usually cracks the head on these and they are somewhat hard to...

stearing gear box rebuild tight stearing

If you have trouble with getting the shims you may be able to make them from plastic shim stock. Both Grainger and McMaster Carr carry something like the attached. I think NAPA has brass material shim stock. Good luck...

L185 - Wont stop with key????

The previous posters have it all correct! Push the throttle rod all the way forward to slow engine down. Reach down (pretty low) on the right side and there is a lever right behind the throttle rod and you pull up on it. It is probably the same color as the engine if it has been re-painted...

    Belly mower rock gaurd

You may be able to get some chain and build a curtain to put over the chute. Bicycle chain may be heavy enough to stop the rocks. You may need to space it out to get the grass to exhaust and the rocks to stop. You could try other types of chains if that is too heavy or too light.

    Modifying bucket teeth on backhoe?

Don't even worry about the head math - just do it - you enjoy designing and building the mod and then you have the only one just like it. The "four minute savings" was just too funny (to me) to pass up ribbing you about!

    Farm Chains

You can also use nylon slings to lift this type of thing with - they won't damage the paint. Just be careful to not let the sling get cut by the lifted item or the lifting end. And ensure they are rated for the load... There are various types that are shown here...

Help with buying a tractor B1-15 please?

Tractor data has it at 15 HP "AT THE PTO" so the engine would be a few more so 18 may be at the engine. See this link. http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/006/9/1/6910-kubota-b1-15.html Most Kubota tractors come in 2WD or 4WD variants. The 2WD models are F as in L185F while the 4WD...

search on the internet for "Dell amber LED" or something similar. Here is one "how to fix it" http://www.instructables.com/id/Fix-the-Dell-OLOD-Orange-Light-Of-Death/ I had a Dell that sat for a while and when I tried to start nothing but some light like you state (don't recall yellow...

    New to welding. Which rods?

One thing that helped me at first was to just use the old hand held welding shield and not a flip down helmet (it took me a while to get the head jerk correct when learning!). That way you could concentrate on seeing the weld almost start and then put the shield in front of your face without...

    Land pride 1260 maintenance

There are "grease relief ports" that are available for places that you do not want to build up pressure with grease pumping. This link is to Alemite's http://www.alemite.com/catalog/details.aspx?identifier=fittings_relief I personally would not think that one of these would be installed on a...

    Outdoor guys

You may also want to look into AATV (amphibious all terrain vehicles) also known as six wheelers. There are a few brands (Max, Argo). They come in 2 seater and 4 seater versions. Most have no real suspension but use low pressure tires for suspension. They are fun and can go most everywhere...

    B7100 front end play?

you can go to the Kubota website and find a parts diagram Kubota.com, then parts, then illustrated parts list, then accept their legal talk, then type in a B7100 in the search. You may get several choices but look at the 4WD version that you have. Probably a section on the front axle and look...

    L285 Problem with hydraulic lift

To check your transmission/hydraulic fluid level there is (probably) a plug that is near the clutch pedal. See the picture in this link - it is painted red. http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9299 The picture is showing a plug that looks like a pipe plug but the...

    Used Kubota Tractor Advice

Price sounds about right - especially with a loader. I have a L185 and use a 4 foot Modern Ag cutter (417 pounds). That is about all I would use on it. I even added all 4 weights to the front end (220 pounds) and that made it fairly comfortable. Before it would not always steer really well...

    G2160-rs48 bagger removal?

if you go to the Kubota site and go to the illustrated parts list, accept the legal stuff and then type in the G2160 you will get a list of manuals. On one of them select "local options" and that will give you another list of accessories. Select the grass catcher and that will get you a parts...

    L245 fuel gauge?

Yes it is supposed to be a clear tube. They often seem to be painted over or so dark you can't see the fuel. When it is clear you will be able to see the fuel as it moves down the tube from usage. If you can't see fuel it is either really full or nearly empty - you kind of have to know which...

    B7300 Injector pump questions

The rings may be rusted/locked to the piston. You can try the method in the nest to last post in this thread. Basically put some Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders and let it set for a while. Be sure the oil is out of the cylinders before cranking it over or you will damage the engine. I...
