    85' JLG Straight boom reserved...

Yes it is the straight boom. It works better for trees than the articulated boom. The 1st time I rented the lift I didnt use any safety equipment, but I hardly went over about 50 feet. The 2nd time I rented it I had to take down one of these pines and I went and bought a harness and everything...

    Bx2200 overfilled with oil

Yep youre on the right path. I would never operate a tractor, or any vehicle, where the oil is 1 inch over filled on the dip stick. You can end up with oil getting into places it is not meant to be. Someone who is this careless I would also question EVERYTHING they done on the tractor, because...

    ATV Spreader recommendation please

I have the following spreader that I have used for about 3 years now. I got it at Lowes. I pull it behind my Honda rancher ATV and it works fine. I've mostly used it for fertilizing pasture grass. It has always emptied and spread well. Ive had no issues with it aside from the tires did go flat...

    85' JLG Straight boom reserved...

To any who may be interested...For the 3rd time now in the past 2 years, I'm renting the good ol straight boom yet again....to take down yet another dead pine tree. This time however, I have declared war on the pine trees. Any pine tree within striking distance of the house is coming down. That...

Has anyone ever owned or tried one of these

I use a Stihl KM131 R (Kombi system). I love it. It does everything in one unit - it is a little heavy though, but I do have the most powerful motor head they make. I have a blower for it, hedge trimmer, weed wacker, brush cutter blade, and pole saw. It runs it all. I also have an extension bar...

    New Owner -- New BX 23 S

would strongly recommend under Armour to protect the HST cooling fan and underside of the tractor. The Kubota BX tractors are notorious for breaking fan blades given their location under the tractor (literally just one twig getting hit up into the fan is all it takes), and replacing that little...

I like how this guy thinks!

Interesting. this isn't something that happens around here. Farmers will lease fields to cut hay off of, but its for their own business, not for the person who owns the land. The land owner just gets an annual lease fee, which for Hay production is typically $35-$50 per acre.

That price looks more like what Im used to here in my area. I typically get 5 rolls at the time and pay the guy $250. We leave the money out back near the horses and he delivers it, often while we are at work. I know the farmer, and their farm is just 2 miles down the road. We just shoot him a...

I like how this guy thinks!

Lol I had to google that reference. Havent read that one. I think honestly its just everyone has been so snappy and confrontational on here since covid that some folks are just on the defensive constantly, and start to see confrontation when there is none.

That's for sure, especially considering the damage you see right across the street from his house..

Yea he could still feed those bales, especially to cows. Our bales, which are likely the same grass he has and wrapped exactly the same, are rained on fairly often. If the bales are able to dry out, and don't sit for days in high moisture environment they don't mold too bad, and if they do its...

$21 for a round bale? Ive never seen hay sale that cheap here ever. $40 is the lowest I've seen, but most all the hay farmers in the area are sitting at the same $50 for a 5 foot diameter round bale. Louisiana I know also has the same climate as us here in north Florida and the primary grass...

I like how this guy thinks!

Round Bales would be a great insulator against wind and debris, so I could see it working. However, I counted ~40 bales in the one camera shot of one side of his house. Im at work so I watched the video with no audio, but I wondered if he is a hay farmer himself. If he had to actually purchase...

CVT vs. Automatic Transmission in car

I did touch on this issue with the finance manager. He did mention a few items that the service department would recommend doing at certain points that would cost a few hundred dollars. I didn't get into the weeds with them on it but I did touch on this issue. I brought up the fact that they say...

CVT vs. Automatic Transmission in car

well folks, the deed is done. We killed all day saturday test driving and looking, and wife made up her mind and we got the vehicle. She went with the Toyota Rav4 XSE Hybrid. The dealership we bought it from, they offer a lifetime powertrain warranty after the 3 year / 36,000 mile factory...

    Censorship Really Stinks

Well I cant speak to that then, if that has occurred. I can only speak to what I have seen. I also often go days a time without visiting these forums so I tend to miss a lot in that time. True censorship I will never support. If for example ideas and points of view are being cherry picked and...

Murder not worthy of coverage in the USA

This murder was covered in the news though. One google search of the boys name will return pages of news stories all over the country on it. CNN, USAToday, I understand your sentiment skeets. A lot is going on in our world right now that is firing up emotions. I hear about it all day on my...

    Censorship Really Stinks

I agree 100% that censorship stinks. I am someone who is very hawkish on issues of free expression and individual liberty and certainly of free speech. I watched that covid thread though and how it evolved. I dont view its being locked as censorship. If it was a good discussion on just the facts...

    Censorship Really Stinks

I outlined my feelings on this topic in the original covid 19 thread, based on my experience as a community site owner in the past, even stating that calls of censorship would start if they shut down the thread. So, im not surprised this is the charge now. I will say that I think what initially...
