Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

If you are going to attack the ice on top of the snow with your blower, better have a good supply of shear pins and get used to changing them frequently. It is a snowblower, not an ice breaker.

In frame honing of good bores.

Mega years ago, when I was a kid, I tore down a Chevy 265 CI V8 engine that needed rings. Honed the cylinders, washed everything down with kerosene, and brake cleaner, the old stuff that would remove your skin! Those new rings didn't last but 20,000 miles before it started burning oil big...

    Tractor cleaning?

I use a low-pressure pressure washer on the tractor, and I stay away from the engine, electrical, and anything else that water will cause problems with. My tractor is not a garage queen but a working tool. I maintain it well to preserve my investment, but I don't get upset about some...

BX23S Operator Manual PDF with bookmarks that work

I would like to have them. A PDF or a link is good for me. I have two binders on all the various accessories that I have on my tractor. Never can have too much information available at your fingertips.

Stupid Tractor Newbie question about snow depth

Reminds me of when I lived in NH in the early 1960s. A car drove down an old logging road until it fell through the snow. It was about 5 or 6 feet deep. The man managed to get to the main road, and eventually, the state police arrived. It took a very large loader to open the road to get the...

A reasonable alternative to 2 grease guns?

Auger zerks are just to keep water out so the shaft doesn't rust. It doesn't matter what you use for this as long as you grease it regularly to push out any water that should develop in the area between the auger pipe and the shaft.

Just bought a repo BX23S on auction (title edited)

I don't believe that there is any formal transfer process other than proof of ownership. If the dealer where you picked it up from was the selling dealer, you can request that they get you a Certificate of Origin for your tractor, even though it will never be registered for the road. It is the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

It appears that when that tree in your picture comes down, it is going to take those wires with it. Doesn't the utility cut the treetops when they start to grow into the wires?

    Help please with bx2200

Defective ignition switch. Turning the switch to crank bypasses the run contacts, which is why it stops once it is started. My guess is that it is shorting out internally to activate the stop solenoid.

When the wind decides to turn a barn into a chicken coop!

I have a 10' x 10' door with a double torsion spring set up with an 11' ceiling height and it uses regular tracks. It is a steel door with insulation between the 2 layers of steel and 2" thick. The track is mounted right to the ceiling. On my rear overhead door, it is a 9' x 9' x 2" insulated...

A reasonable alternative to 2 grease guns?

You can use Valvoline's Crimson grease which is a tacky extreme pressure lithium soap grease. There is no need for a more expensive grease for things like loader pins, and just about anything else on the type of tractors that we own. The only thing on my tractor that I would be greasing that...
