    T1760 Add Fluid to XMSN

Look at the HST pedal linkage on the transmission. I don't remember on the 1760, but the 1460 and 1560 (and GR2100/2110 as well) have a little set screw in the linkage that keeps it from falling off of it's shaft. I've seen more than one of them with that set screw loose. And it'll cause...

No new Truck...sticker shock and synthetic oil.

I won't pay the extra for synthetic if cheaper dino works just fine. There's a few reasons. One, the vehicle that I drive daily (2004 Ford Mustang V6/Auto) has 326,000 miles on it. I have all the service records from day one-and it's a STACK of paper, all just regular maintenance and...

    M8200 flywheel

IIRC, the service manuals don't give that information. Actually Kubota in general doesn't recommend resurfacing flywheels. So, you're best bet is to call a good dealer that you trust, and ask them to contact the technical service center. The TSC may have to contact engineering and perhaps...

    BX25D Backhoe issue

It is designed to run 3500-3600 RPM all the time, just like a lawn mower engine. Actually that's what it is (check out the ZD series...same engines). It runs cooler and makes power at full RPM. And the little baby hydraulic pump is designed to work the best at full speed. That said, it's...

replace cooling fan for hydro unit on bx1860

The older G series mowers has a spline at the front of the shaft, where it connected to the engine. This was so that the shaft could move a little while the rubber engine mounts could deflect a little bit. The problem is this: The spline needs a grease fitting on it so that the spline doesn't...

    L3300 Shifter cables

IIRC, the cables aren't available separate from the entire shifter assemly...thus the extravagant cost. Then the labor-replacing them is not easy. If it has a loader, I think the loader frame on the left side has to come off to gain access. And...if it's got a backhoe, the hoe's gotta come...

    T1760 Starter

Those are withing spec, assuming that they were checked with them still connected. Sounds like starter time. There are some cheap starters available for it, however, be prepared to replace it more often than an OEM kawasaki starter.

replace cooling fan for hydro unit on bx1860

Take the engine out. It's a LOT easier than removing the floors. The engine comes out pretty easily. Then you can power wash under there-which is commonly needed. I've done fans in under 2 hours by removing the engine.

    Anyone with DPF issues?

There is no set amount of time. It's dependent on how the tractor is used, how much the engine is loaded, if it's doing idling or if it's wide open throttle/low load, etc. There are 5 stages of DPF soot level (SL). SL1 is no big deal. This typically shows up as you're bush hogging for...

    hst fluid color

Check the hydraulic pump suction tube between the pump and the steel pipe for cracks, specifically on the back side of the rubber tube.

    ATV drowning

Failed to mention air cooled bikes and quads. That cylinder and piston are running at 300+ degrees at normal operating temperature. Then they go into the water-snorkeled or not-and that cylinder cools off instantly, but the piston is still hotter than a firecracker. Stuff shrinks when it's...

    Sidehill Slope and L2501

I was fishing on a well known river last summer and was motoring up river, slowly, as it was maybe a foot deep. Anyway I get over by a set of houses and seen a guy out mowing on a BX2370. Mowing sideways across the hillside/river bank. I thought to myself, man this guys' got some 'nads to mow...

    MX5100 4WD will not engage

Not possible on MX5100. It can shift into/out of FWA regardless of it's speed or gear position. I'd guess that the shift mechanism and/or the FWA gearbox are damaged somehow. Not likely in the gear box (I've not heard of it on an MX....L series yes, but not MX). Probably in the linkages...

Need a heavy duty tow hitch

Sounds like the OP has got it figured out...aside from owning a toyota (but that's my personal opinion working here...) Anyway I've been down this road. 24' enclosed with car inside. Trailer is 3500 lbs even. Car + tools and junk another 3490. Right at 7000 lbs give or take a few. I used...

    D905 low compression after sevice

If you checked compression with a 300 psi gauge, and it didn't PEG or BURY the needle, it's low. Should be 450-550 psi. Below about 400 and they'll get hard to start; and since the little engine is so small, it doesn't take much to make compression pressure low. A piece of dirt stuck on a...

GR2120 Major Problems less than 100 hours!

I'm interested. What kind of metal got into the engine? I would've thought that if there was a defect of some sort causing metal to get in there, it would've had to happen within a few hours of use. Where'd the metal come from? What kind of metal is it? I am not a fan of the GR series...

    T1760 Starter

That rear bolt is a bear! IIRC, I used a bent wrench. Before you take it off, grab your volt meter. I need to know the voltage of 2 wires. One, the big wire from the battery. Then, lock the park brake and test the smaller wire. Leave the wires on the starter to do the voltage test. Then...

    Fuel filter mod

Those old standard L series (L2350, L2500, L2600, and L3000) had one of the better filtration systems that Kubota has had (before common rail engines came along). Little tougher to bleed but it filters the fuel excellently!

    B2610 Skid Plate

If you see a need for a skid plate, I see a need for a real tractor (or bull dozer), and a B is still not a real tractor. A B series has a big square tubing frame similar to what lawn mowers use. Little better than a BX but still not a real tractor. Actually the B series has several little...

    K&N Air Filters

Exact same experience I've had with K&N filters as well, both on a '03 Powerstroke 7.3, and an '03 SVT Lightning. Tubes were dusted in no time. Where'd that dust go? Right into the engine, meaning there was wear. I actually called K&N directly and talked to them about it and they wanted to...
