L2501 acts like it's starving for fuel

Tier 4 engines-above 25.0hp-need to have a DPF to meet the standards set forth by the US EPA. The EPA doesn't care how a manufacturer meets the standard, they just care that it DOES meet the standard. Currently, the DPF is the least invasive way to meet those standards (on 25hp+). The L2501...

    Fuel gauge not working

It is a pain in the butt to get out! The float/sensor assembly is under the orange plastic that surrounds the gauge panel. Remove the hood, makes it a lot easier in the long run. A few bolts and the plastic surround parts come right off. Then, once that's out of the way, you'll find that...

New Box Blade - Should I Be Worried About These Scrapes/Chips?

Agreed! So let's say you go back to the dealer and tell them you want a new one. Chances are that what you're seeing was done during either unloading from the transporter, during shipping, or during loading at the shipper's location. That said, it's likely that you'll find scratches on the...

    T1760 Add Fluid to XMSN

It can be repaired but is it cost feasible? You'd have to know what's wrong inside before making that decision. There is a filter inside of it. Was the oil you drained out contaminated? Any metal chips or filings in the oil? Did you check the set screw yet? What kind of oil did you put...

    L4610 Hitch leaks down

This is exactly how to test it. If it leaks down with the valve turned off, the valve is leaking. With 3000 hours, it's likely that the piston seals are leaking. Here's how it works. Hydraulic fluid is sent to the 3 point hitch valve-called a position control valve. It is constant flow...

Z122r Zero Turn won't start after it warms up

Tell your dealer to check for bulletins for the brake switch.

    Warranty on dealer installed failure

Don't know your equipment, or any other details, but when I was working at a dealer, it wasn't uncommon to install an accessory...grapples were one that stood out...and the accessory was an aftermarket supplied deal. Lots of times (with the grapples that we sold-all of them), either there were...

    Clutch pedal return spring broke

Yeah just did one about a week ago. Only one (well two now) I've seen/heard of that didn't have some sort of outlying issue...such as debris, logs, sticks, trees, rocks, whatever damaging either the spring or one of the spring hooks.

    L2900 electrical issues

Glow plug system is got something going on. The system can draw more amperage than the little alternator puts out, thus when checking the charging voltage, it will show "low"...making one think that the alternator is dead. It's not uncommon for the glow relay or the glow timer to die. The...

    WSM for L4701

Yep. Copyrighted. I assume that is why we were instructed to not distribute them. Either that or Kubota wanted people to buy them rather than cheat/steal them from some other source. I dunno.

    Favorite seal removal method

My favorite removal tool is FIRE. Only when it's feasible though. It works for removal of all kinds of stuff :p J/K. Depends on the situation. Seal picks work, wood screw, screwdriver, hammer, chisel, fire, they all work but not every seal is the same thus each one of those methods is...

    L3800 dead cylinder

So what's the deal with the aftermarket filter? What's wrong with the factory-installed fuel filter/separator assembly? I PDI'd and delivered hundreds of the L series (3200, 3800, 4600) and nary a one has had any problem that wasn't due to owner or operator neglect, so I don't see a big need...

    Kubota Z724

There's a couple relays near the battery, I had 2 724's where one of the relays died-caused the exact same complaint. Worth looking into if you haven't found your issue yet.

    integrity in the service department

I have at some point in time worked for different kinds of bosses and managers, from some that pushed parts sales pretty hard to those who pushed every nickle and dime, but reminded everyone to be fair with the customer. I preferred to work for someone who was fair to their customers; and I...

    Kubota B3300SU...good tractor?

Good little tractor. Only complaint I had with them is that they were a little "buzzy" due to the 4 cylinder design, with no counterbalancer. No big deal. It's a tractor not a Lincoln Towncar. Little boogers have a LOT of power for their size. I rarely see them in the shop; even when I...

Sourcing hard to find B20 hood decals

Wish I could find an entire set of decals for my MF 1140...about like most MF stuff, long gone it looks like.

    hst problem

Another few ways to damage HST's in general, and it doesn't matter if it's a tractor, big tractor, little one, or lawn mower. Lack of maintenance. Change the filters. Often. Heat. Let the oil cooler get plugged externally and it'll damage the HST components. On BX's and a lot of the HST...

    hst problem

Jerry, I was working for a dealer at the time. That tractor, too, had lower hours, under 1000 as I recall. The owner told me that some of his crew had been operating with a dead battery, stopped the engine and couldn't get a truck to it to restart, so they pulled it back to the road somehow...

    L35 won't move

MOST of the ones I'd seen that broke the shuttle clutch housing were low hours. Kubota paid for a LOT more than they were obligated to, sometimes out of warranty-but usually only slightly out. They only had 1 year. Might have the dealer call & ask them about it. Never know. Worst case...

Fuel filter change on a L4060

If you don't fill the new filter with fuel, they're a pain to restart! Have to bleed them and it's completely different bleeding procedure than the old style injection. May have to consult your WSM.
