    Z421 zero issues

they have a set of levers you pull out to push or tow manually. Owners manual shows you where they at. fuel system issues can be kind of daunting but luckily those mowers are real simple. About the only fuel issues I ever saw with em was the pickup tube getting plugged up, shutoff valve...

    Hydraulic leak on GR2120 transmission

if you had the pto clutch out and didn't have the tool to line everything up correctly, there's good possibility that the case was cracked during installation. I've done it, a couple times, and it's pretty easy to do. Leaks every time.

Carbon Canister and evap. system on Gas RTV?

people have removed them but the downside is that wherever you store the machine, you WILL have fuel fumes building up. That's what the canister does, it uses activated charcoal to absorb the fumes instead of venting the fumes to atmosphere. EPA stuff so removing it is tampering with emissions...

    Hydraulic leak on GR2120 transmission

no, you posted in teh right place. A lot of us techs that dealt with GR series mowers despised them (myself included) and generally avoid them at ALL costs including forum suggestions. My best suggestion? Sell it!! :D could be anything leaking. That transmission is a poor design, not known...

    Mover deck won't engage

for some reason I read it as "T1400" which is more like that deere. T1600 is more like the G series in that you can adjust the pto belt tension.

    Brake carnage!!

flushing the brake fluid once in a while is a VERY good idea. Keeps the calipers and hoses from falling apart, among other things. Most folks don't change fluid until it's time to replace parts...and even then it doesn't get flushed. ABS systems MUST be flushed periodically, if not the ABS...

L3901 White Smoke and Fuel Knock

it'd be pretty easy and pretty quick to properly diagnose if you had diagmaster. But you're not a dealer, and won't have full access, so it's considered "dealer only" (unfortunately or fortunately--depending on how you look at things). I assume you mean "lift pump" because you can't check flow...

How often does YouTube save you $$$$

I don't think y'all understood where I was going with that question "how much does youtube cost you". I understand what yall are thinking but here's where I was going with it: As a service tech I see and have seen tons of equipment come through the shop that so-and-so certified youtube...

    Mover deck won't engage

service manual outlines how to do it. Or I can google it for you: It's a Deere but the clutch is very, very similar if not identical.

Lessons learned doing the 50 hr service.

same o-ring trick cost me a $5000 RTV engine. On the rtv 1100's you can't really get to the filter very well. It's a bear, unless you do it from the bottom which requires removal of the skid plate. As a paid technician, I don't take the skid plates off unless completely necessary. On that...

    John Deere Announces Layoffs

they's a lot of reasons for layoffs locally there has been a cutback on workforce at certain places and every one of the laid off employees was not pulling their own weight. "Dead weight" as some may say. They're there for a paycheck, contributing little to the business. The government is...

    L3130 H.S.T. Filter change

about 10 if I remember right. if you're just doing the filter, you can pull some vacuum on the filler cap and you won't lost much oil at all. Maybe not even enough to see on the sight glass.

    L6060 position lever probs

L6060 hydraulic system is completely different than L5030. That's that. No comparison. Kubota dealers aren't cat dealers. Nor are they Deere dealers (usually). Big name manufacturers don't like dealers being multi-line; little dealer I worked for was a prime example. We sold Deere from...

    M9540 AC not cold again

Denso as I remember...explains one reason for the expense. Good stuff but expensive. Scroll compressor as I remember.

L2800 with LA463 loader cylinder rebuild kit

I do not remember which loader I was working with, but there were two cylinders available for it. The cylinder barrel had the part number stamped into it near the mounting eye. Using that part number I was able to figure out what serial range it was, and got the correct kit-without having to...
