So much for calling for prices

people talk about how bad the pandemic was on economy in the tractor/powersports/camper/boat business that was not the case for sure, and I worked right through it-and enjoyed the extra cash! 2020/2021 was a HUGE sales and service improvement over 2018/19. Record numbers. anyway, i wonder if...

Kubota Tractor Extended Warranty, Is It Worth the Cost?

It's only worth it if you need it, like any other extended warranty. Dealers push it pretty hard because they get a little incentive for selling it, and salesman get a little more commission as well.

    L4150 Lost Oil Pressure

on the side of the engine there are a few plugs. Some of them are "drive-in" plugs, as some call them "freeze" plugs or "welch" plugs. They close off intersecting oil passages, and some of them are on the suction side of the oil pump. If one of those falls out, it will have zero oil pressure...

    Broken fuel pressure sensor

and hope it doesn't hurt the engine if it doesn't do what it's supposed to..... HP fuel systems are really really sensitive.

    Kubota M9960 Muffler Sensor

had plenty of training on those but I will admit, the training wasn't stellar....anyway.... as I understand it, the ecu has a 'memory' in it, which 'remembers' how the engine has been running (reads all the sensors) for the last I think 10 cycles. Thus if the sensor in question is bad, the ecu...

    Broken fuel pressure sensor

if it's just the connector damaged, you can just replace the SCV, unless I'm mistaken. Seems like I had to replace one before I quit going Kubota but don't remember. 4701 I think.

Ooops I broke a cutting deck

that blade...you may be wise to go look really hard for it. They don't usually go very far, problem is they'll lay in the grass until you run over it, then it has a tendency to cut. Your new blades. And spindle, deck, and then might go flying through the neighbor's rib cage.

Runs With Scissor's Latest Lathe Projects

few years back I found a guy out east of town that had a used lathe. Craftsman. Priced "right", and I just happened to need one (and for once, had the money). I bought it. 12x36, identical to Atlas 3996 I believe. Thus far I have not had any project that it's been "too small" for. I do...

Ooops I broke a cutting deck

i won the lottery today. Had a customer bring me a Polaris that he broke the secondary clutch retaining bolt off IN (way up inside the shaft, about 3" in). Was able to get a drill to bite into it, then an ez-out to back it right out. Took maybe 30 min tops. Talk about lucky. One of the VERY...

    Smoked Clutch ??

check the freeplay on the clutch pedal. If it's got no freeplay, the clutch is worn. If that's the case you MIGHT be able to adjust the freeplay and get by until you've saved your pennies for a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and any gaskets/seals/fluids that may be needed to...

L3800 won’t start after fuel filter repl

I've had this happen a bunch of times remove the fuel line that runs from the lift pump to the injector pump. Crank the engine over til fuel comes out. Reinstall the line, open the thumb screw bleeder, crank til it starts-then close the thumb screw. when replacing the filter, I usually just...

Carbon Canister and evap. system on Gas RTV?

yeah I've heard of it. Performance automotive enthusiasts have tried it, and haven't heard any good feedback from it either. megasquirt is another option, and probably a much better option. I have some experience with MS3X and PiMP. any efi requires a crank sensor so you're gonna have to...

    TG1860 PTO issue

if the torque limiter pin broke the wires for the clutch usually get ripped out of the connetor, then they short out against the metal parts-causing fuse to get blowed. Real common on some brands (bad boy comes to mind....)

Carbon Canister and evap. system on Gas RTV?

on a lot of cars the ecu compensates for the slightly "richer" mixture when the purge valve is opened. I can't speak for mowers, I do not know their ecu strategies, although I would assume it would be similar.

Ooops I broke a cutting deck

I've done a bunch of those. 99% of the time they come out with a punch. How? take a good sharp center punch and start a divot in the outer edge of the bolt, with the punch going straight in. Once you get a little divot, turn the punch at an angle such that it is turning the bolt backwards...

    Z421 zero issues

had a customer once with same complaint. "won't roll when I push it". Ok chief, did you pull the tow levers out? "YES I'm not "that dumb". Oh ok, well did you take the parking brake off? Hold on let me check (it should have been obvious). Guy gets back on the phone and tells me "maybe I am...

    L3901 e20 code

the switch is either falling apart and shorting itself very likely. Check the hst switch, if it's coming apart it'll be pretty obvious. I've seen it happen a few times.

    Old ammunition

My neighbor up the road is a police department worker. AKA "cop". His job is to take confiscated firearms and ammunition that are not claimed, and destroy and bury it. That's all he does now. They can't sell any of it. Law says it has to be destroyed. So yes, contact the local PD or...

    Need cylinder head recommendation

I wonder how many V3307 heads I threw away? Along with mandatorily-damaged blocks and complete engines? Plenty of them. Had one at the house for years and nobody wanted it. I had it in my fox body mustang for a bit (never drove it) just for giggles. It actually fits. I wanted to but the 427...

    L3710 GST 4x4 not engaging?

seen a few couplings get "rounded out" (splines rusted/worn off. Check the lever linkages to be sure, if they're ok remove the propeller shaft cover (just slide it back a little) and lift the front axle so the wheels are no longer touching the ground. Reach up with your foot and turn the front...
