Yes, I think that's what he's talking about. I used to have a BX5450 and I think you're right about it being just a guard. The fingers could potentially reduce the chances of flinging rocks, but mine used to fling gravel with aplomb!!if you are talking about the chute guard (stout wires in the discharge chute) they are there to stop people from putting their hands down the chute. safety guard thing.
if not this then disregard previous.
That's what I did....yeah chute guard. i just remove mine. it clogs up more with that in there. take it out and you are good.
Obviously, you’d remove it when blowing slushy, wet snow, right? That’s when my clogging problems happened! Not your model but a 2750. Also removed that guard and replaced it with this, which is quickly removable in case of a plug up. I find it provides more blow to move the snow farther. View attachment 166247
There is nothing WD-40 is used for that something else doesn't do better. I undercoat the vehicles with woolwax every year and I hit the tractor and implements while I'm at it. I live in the merrimack valley where I'm constantly dealing with slush and I don't get clogs unless I get behind and have to blow 4"+ of snow while it's also raining. All of my equipment is refurbished from heavily abused stuff I find so there's no paint, which probably helps the woolwax adhere.Outside a bit disappointed with the WD40. Old Loftness was a mat black finish. Not good for keeping snow free. Needed WD40. Which wore off relatively fast. LandPlane snowblower is new. Smooth and shiny orange. Applied the WD40 last autumn. Maybe too light a coating? Or it didn't adhere to Kubota Orange paint?
No, that blocker stays on thru all snow conditions. I normally don't blow at full throttle but in slushy stuff, its pedal to the metal.Obviously, you’d remove it when blowing slushy, wet snow, right? That’s when my clogging problems happened!
Good luck! I peg the throttle for all snowblowing! No, that blocker stays on thru all snow conditions. I normally don't blow at full throttle but in slushy stuff, its pedal to the metal.
I'll run at my tractor's "operating" RPM while snow blowing, which is 2500RPM.Good luck! I peg the throttle for all snowblowing!![]()
That’s fine! You do you! 2500 is idling speed for my old BX25D!I'll run at my tractor's "operating" RPM while snow blowing, which is 2500RPM.
That is NOT "pedal to the metal".
I get another 200-300rpm if I "peg" the throttle.
But if Kubota says 2500 RPM is best power/torque/efficiency RPM, that's there I shoot for.
BX25D rated RPM is 3200.That’s fine! You do you! 2500 is idling speed for my old BX25D!
What's the BX25D recommended operating RPM?That’s fine! You do you! 2500 is idling speed for my old BX25D!
This is saying the BX25D engine "rated" operating RPM is 3200RPM, and with engine at 3200RPM the front PTO spins at 2500RPM.BX25D rated RPM is 3200.
B2650 rated RPM is 2500.
He couldn't go substantially faster if he wanted to.
