In the fall we had our local garage (farm equipment) service our BX1860, remove the mower deck, grease it and return both to us. We stored the mower deck inside the garage. Normally we would have plowed snow in our parking area but we had an easy winter and due to our ages (75 & 85) I hired out what little plowing we needed.
With the early and rainy Spring, it is now time to mow so I re-mounted the mower deck on the BX 1860. Had trouble lining up the two parts of the PTO but finally got them together and the deck installed. When I tried to engage the mower - nothing. I need to look underneath the tractor when the mower is (in theory) engaged to see whether there is any movement in the PTO shaft. Ditto I need to take the belt guards off so I can see what the belts are doing. There are no strange noises, no load being put on the engine, and I did run the rpms up to 3200 when I tried to start mowing.
Any ideas?? This Kubota is 12 years old, always garaged.
