B 8200 Front axle / wheel/ bearings

Front wheel came off when bearing collapsed. Replaced wheel bearings, greased them plus bevel gear,fitted seal and slid wheel hub back in. Wondering what stops the wheel hub from coming out. Is it the two collars shown on diagram? Can one improvise short term?

Can't call you a smart arse as obviously you learn nothing from your experiences !

????????????????????? Just stating a fact. I have to assume that it is only the tightness of the bearing on the bore and shaft that keep it in place.

no worries; tongue in cheek comment. Have been told that but don't want to invite more issues so wanting to make sure
