Hi,
New member looking for help on possibly identifying and fixing a hydraulic leak on a MX5100.
I’m pretty sure it’s leaking where the gray hard line is attached. Can it be fixed with new o rings?

Banjo bolts usually have either copper washers or bonded rubber washers. Have you checked for tightness? They are a hollow bolt so I guy doesn't want to get too western with it.

They are copper crush washers, try snugging the fitting up.

I snugged it maybe 1/8 of a turn and it was still dripping. Thank You

Yes I snugged it and it continued to ooze. To replace the crush washers would I have to loosen, or remove the other end of the hard line? Will I lose much fluid by removing/loosening the attachment points? Thanks for your input.

You should be able to remove the Banjo bolt and washers without removing the other end, and replace the 2 washers and the bolt without to much loss.
Just have a clean pan under it when you pull it and replace the fluid when your done.

Spray it with a cleaner before beginning. It looks like the outer most seal isn't much!!

I went to my local dealer this morning. It took the counter guy, service manager and finally a tech to find what I needed on the parts lookup. Good thing I had a picture. I tried getting a part number before going, but was getting a 404 error for MX tractor parts. Thanks for the help.

A 6-point socket is the best to use on a banjo bolt just to keep the head in good condition. When you remove the bolt washers may stay in place as you remove the bolt. A bit of tug on the steel line and you'll have enough space to replace both washers. Just snug the bolt back tight. There is a specific torque (which I don't know) just don't put a lot of leverage on the wrench!

Not specific to tractors but,

I have also had the "inboard" crush washer of the "Banjo bolt above" leak, and make it appear as if the lower one was leaking.

Just a FYI.

Capital "S" snug, maybe little 't' tight.....
Agree the proper sized Metric 6 point is the best tool for the job.
As for leakage, provided no pressure in the lines 7 or 8 drips.

The old ones don’t look bad to me, but the new ones seem to have fixed the problem. The hard line flexed away from the pump making it an easier procedure. The inner washer dropped out while I was prying the other one off the bolt. Nothing is this easy for me I’m not fully believing yet. Thanks again for the help. I had a 12pt 22mm socket.
