Greeting-New member here. Enjoy the site alot and have learnd alot as well.My quandry?I've been looking for a top link for the 3pt on my newly aquired B6100 HSTE (1984 going by the serial number)). Going thru a dealer , you have to buy the pieces,RH and LH link joints (51.80 a piece)and what they call the top link ( It's the center piece I refer to as the barrel @ 69.75. I don't usually mind paying a little premium, but in this case I am looking for an alternative. Has anyone had to do this before. I've done lot of searching and the only solution that comes to mind is milling the top ball on a standard cat 1 top link(1 3/4) down so it will fit the 1 1/2 slot where it attaches to the tractor.Am I missing something? After all I am a rookie. (first tractor) Seems this kubota link is a hybred, part cat 1, part cat 0. I haven't even got a good look at one to see how long it might be. Any info or suggestions or pictures?
Also, it has a very slow drip coming out the mid PTO. I order the parts to fix it but wonder if there is anything to watch out for when replacing the oil seal. It looks pretty straight forward, but Ive been surprised before.
Again, Thank You, all you posters. Sharing all your knowledge and experience with those new to tractors is well appreciated.
PS: If you have never read "Love, Sex and Tractors" byRoger Welsch, Give it a read, it's a hoot.
