BX2380 "Floorboard" question

Just wondering - pulled up rubber mat under drivers feet today - (and really needed cleaning under there!). Does that metal "floorboard" remove easily? Looks like it should - maybe slide back from under front edge around where batt sits etc. just seems like it would make it easier to get to 2nd fuel filter. and linkages for pedals etc etc. Cant seem to find a parts manual that has it laid out. I cant believe its too structural since its only like 12mm fasteners. Any guidance please. Thanks!

It's been 4 years since I tore the fuel tank out of my BX23S ( same parts..)but I'm pretty sure, yes, undo 4 bolts, wiggle, wiggle , it'll come out.
I looked at Kub CDA online parts to verify same parts for both tractors.
Let us know how it works out !
Course now I'm wondering what the 'extra' bolt holes next to the front ones are for........

It’s called a “step” and I bought a new one for my BX25D and had it LineX coated. Old one was rusting away under the floor mat. Wasn’t a hard job but at 73 and lying on my back to undo the bolts then remove the throttle pedal and work it out and the new one in. That kinda sucked.

Course now I'm wondering what the 'extra' bolt holes next to the front ones are for........

Its for the European BX231 Mirrors! However, on mine, the Land Pride 3rd function valve mounts on those holes on the left side.

boy u folks are great. With the name "step" was able to track it down - and it sure looks like easily (famous last words I know!) R&R - at least it looks like the tractor wont fall apart if removed. Getting to the age where I dont want to crawl around too much underneath. I'll try to report back on this thread after giving it a go

Believe me, it will be faster to put a piece of cardboard on the ground and shimmy underneath the tractor to change the filter than it will be to remove the floorboard to do it from above. Just make sure that you have all the tools that you will need to do the job in advance.

I did the same thing 5 years ago - bought the "new" heavier rubber mat that I saw Paul Short place down.

I painted it with the liner paint WHILE still on however.

now, yet another 'winter project'... make a pair of those rear view mirrors !
along with the filter upgrade.....

FWIW, if you remove the 2 front nuts/bolts of the fan guard,loosen the two rear, swing the guard down it's a LOT easier to change the HST filter......

well, my days of shimmying underneath anything were spent out on the ramp lol. Things just dont bend like they used to. I really like the suggestion in the next post and may make that a winter time project.

I can get down, but I can't get up, so I only do things on my back when I know that there is someone close by who can help me back on my feet. If I can ever get my car off the 4-post lift, I can put the tractor on that to work on the underneath. I am making progress, and just last week I got the engine back into the car. The engine was rebuilt about 8 years ago, but old age put me out of commission for a few years. I intend to have that car done by the spring if it is the last thing that I do this winter. It is a convertible and I want to drive it with the top down this summer!

Update for anyone interested - I spent some time today - not really a big deal - taking the "step" out - maybe 10 minutes work really. Worth it only from the standpoint of cleaning out a bunch of schmutz accumulated underneath - around frame rail etc - must be 1" of debris all around linkages etc etc. However - not much other use otherwise - still a PITA to access the fuel filter around there - cant really get to it from above anyways. Not sure why engineers insist on designing stuff the hard way for service items that get replaced pretty frequently. Going to be looking into one of the aftermarket kits that move this filter to a more accessible location.
