Are any of you folks using a grease pump & buying 5 gallon buckets of grease ? , If so what are you using , where are ya gettin it & whats a pail go for ? I have @ 2.5 gallons of the Chevron red tacky grease left in my grease pump from my Case 580's that I hope to not have sittin around soon . I think I paid in the 9-11 buck range for a tube of the black hi pressure moly grease last time I bought one & that was for 14 oz . Quick math comes out to 45 14 oz tubes in a 5 gallon bucket . I can also refill my regular grease guns off the grease pump .
thanks

Yea , I knew the red stuff was up there , I don't believe that the black hi pressure molly stuff is as expensive . I asked a few years back about usin the red on my orange & IIRC it seemed that it was unfavorable over the molly . I'll have to call some distributers next week .
thanks

i use chevron delo Synthetic grease in pails. I buy it in N. MN. for about U$250/pail.
A pail of Lucas red and tacky is cheaper at U$200
works out to be about $5 per tube fill

I have a real good bud that was a heavy equipment operator & I would get the stuff left in his pump after it quit pumping , Quick work with a 3-4" putty knife . He passed month before last .

I bought my last pail years ago pre-covid from my oil distributor. Sorry I don't remember the price. I have to get a new one soon and I'm not looking forward to price shock.

Nope it 5 gallons, weight 35 pounds
How do they get 35 gallons into that 5 gallon bucket? I believe they have gotten very confused in their measurements.

I recall that there is a 125 pound drum of grease that is packaged in a 35 drum that can have a pump mounted on the top.
