Hi all, I'm in the market to buy a new 2012 L3800HST tractor with a loader bucket and box scraper. What is a fair price to land one for in California?

Where in Ca? Northern, Central, Southern. Go to the Kubota website and go to build your Kubota. You can build the tractor how you want it in just a few minutes. You will then have list price and know that you should not be paying any more than that and really should get 10-15% off of that.

For instance I just priced out an L3800 how I would want it and it listed out for $26,051.

Good luck ;)

The website does give the MSRP on all the components, but the dealer will do their best at charging you for freight and labor for putting together you tractor. When I purchased mine, I was told that it is a "good 10 hours of labor to put together your tractor..." Sounds like hogwash to me, but even the website lists that this estimated price may not include additional costs. Odd to me, but it was definitely not like buying a car. Don't forget tax unless you are farm exempt.

about $18K for a 3800DT w FEL and QA 66" bucket in ID. Check the web. determine your price and stay with it. Overall value may be made better with the purchase of additional implements. Have a clear picture of what you want and a list of the implements that you may want and an average web price for them. Look up Kubota "Package deal" on the web and see what you come up with- bring the web ads with you.

Well I was going to post a link from Tactor House to give you a general idea but every damn one of them says to call for the price...

Thanks for the very helpful feedback everyone. I'm in southern CA and have been quoted $19K out the door for the tractor with the implements I listed above. Hopefully that's a good deal.

No, but I'll try giving Pauley a try too. This other dealer wanted $22K and I got them down to $19K. If you think it's a good deal, I'll probably go for it. Thanks.

Pauley probably won't give you a better price, :( but one of those things of you don't really know unless you ask. All they can say is no, we won't beat or even match that price. The reason I asked was that the last time (2 weeks ago) that I was there they had quite a few L3800s.

Good luck with your purchase. ;)
