If I can find some, I have plans to put a piece of Aluminum or Stainless Expanded material to make it non-slip.Looks nice.
I would probably add some "Skate Board" tape, or paint the topside with truck "bed liner paint" to add some "slip protection"
The Rustolem bed liner paint at Wally world works pretty good for 20 bucks a Quart (or half gallon..... I can remember)
Thanks.VERY COOL.
I cut grass with my BX23s and do not step on the deck. Adding a step helps alleviate the stride distance, and I have a plan. More to come.Nice work but I really don't see the point...
unless you are very short in stature.
not exactly hard to step onto a small homeowner garden tractor....
Looks great!
Stainless fasteners. Drilled, tapped and Loctite.Looks great!
That definitely gives it that "finished" look.
Did you tap the holes, or use nuts on the backside?
The Aluminum, I had a couple pieces of 1/4" tread already bent in my scraps. The bends had too many stress cracks to trust not ripping apart. Had I used them, they would have needed supporting. At that point I may as well used wood and Simpson Hangers.great, now I have a use for the 1/4" checkerplate I've squirreled away for the past 25 years.
punch a couple holes , a bend,lick of paint....might be a 'winter project' I actually complete this winter !
I would agree 25 years ago when I got my first BX but now at 81 with some leg issues I think the step is great and I have a kubota factory step on mine , no I don‘t run a middle mowerNice work but I really don't see the point...

I'm 62. With my past work history being laborious, the older I get, the more I'm reminded of that. Where I can, I plan ahead to make what I need to continue to do, as simple and pain free as possible.I would agree 25 years ago when I got my first BX but now at 81 with some leg issues I think the step is great and I have a kubota factory step on mine , no I don‘t run a middle mower
Old, both hips replaced over 20 years ago and knee replacement and bad back! Yeah I need a step on my BX! Especially after dirt work. On and off the tractor numerous times raking piles of rocks into the bucket from landscaping projects. Up and down up and down, uggh, Lots of rocks in NE PA!Nice work but I really don't see the point...
