Looks nice.

I would probably add some "Skate Board" tape, or paint the topside with truck "bed liner paint" to add some "slip protection"

The Rustolem bed liner paint at Wally world works pretty good for 20 bucks a Quart (or half gallon..... I can remember)

If I can find some, I have plans to put a piece of Aluminum or Stainless Expanded material to make it non-slip.

If I can't find any, I'll drill, tap, and Loctite a dozen or so short Stainless bolts.

VERY COOL.
Thanks.

I did not have the deck on, or test for interference prior to making the step. I kept the bottom of the step flush with the bottom of the rail that supports the FEL Pedestal/floor pan, so it "should" clear the mower deck when raise at the highest setting.

I'm undecided if I want to add a step to the tredle side. If I do it's purpose will go unused, because I'll block that side entirely by mounting my toolbox there. Which I just might do eventually. As a Winter project. Tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣

Nice work but I really don't see the point...
unless you are very short in stature.

not exactly hard to step onto a small homeowner garden tractor....

I cut grass with my BX23s and do not step on the deck. Adding a step helps alleviate the stride distance, and I have a plan. More to come. 😉

The Aluminum, I had a couple pieces of 1/4" tread already bent in my scraps. The bends had too many stress cracks to trust not ripping apart. Had I used them, they would have needed supporting. At that point I may as well used wood and Simpson Hangers.

I would agree 25 years ago when I got my first BX but now at 81 with some leg issues I think the step is great and I have a kubota factory step on mine , no I don‘t run a middle mower

I'm 62. With my past work history being laborious, the older I get, the more I'm reminded of that. Where I can, I plan ahead to make what I need to continue to do, as simple and pain free as possible.

Old, both hips replaced over 20 years ago and knee replacement and bad back! Yeah I need a step on my BX! Especially after dirt work. On and off the tractor numerous times raking piles of rocks into the bucket from landscaping projects. Up and down up and down, uggh, Lots of rocks in NE PA!
