D1105-e Generator power plant

Hi: Would like to use this 3 cyl diesel in a mower that would like 3600 -3800 RPM?? From a 1998? generator with governor pinned at 1800 Rpm - found a specification that list 3600 -3800 max (Depending on Modifications). Would like to know what I need to do or would this unit grenade at 3600rpm. Thanks

Get a D1105-E manual and go though it.
I have a feeling you would need to change the governor assembly.

Thanks: Had a week memory of reading - The governor in generators and tractors are the same. Was hopeing.

Some engines are the same, they just limit the throttle.
Let me see if I have the specs on that engine.

I did go threw the manual with no luck - Onan 7.5kw Gen. Ser# XQ5863. Code 1G274-00000 Family SKBL 1U6D2RB. Thanks - would be unfortunate to go threw the swap and hit a snag. Has the 3 wire shut off solenoid. Think the throttle was pinned. Bob

Onan usually had balls under the governor cup. On a P218 generator engine I reused for a mower, I had to remove half of those balls. From 10 down to 5. Then the speed was correct. The P 218 is a gasoline 2 cylinder so perhaps its quite different in your deisel. Just pointing out one way they did govern the speed.

You have the motor there, fire it up and see if it will rev up?

Thanks; Yes have run it to 3100RPM +_ 50 for 30 minutes purred like a kitten. The original Daihatsu RPM was 3450. Would like to run it at that rpm -

if possible. Feels like i am hitting internal stop at 3100 ( external set out of way). Popped the 2 caps off but did not touch setting. Is there a way to increase RPM ????. Bob
