It blows my mind how the government that is preserved by our veterans' selfless acts of courage and duty don't help them after their duty is done. Our lives would be drastically different without our brave veterans and all the sacrifices they have made.

Find out how your senators voted and if there wasn't a good reason, vote them out of office.

Typical government move. Senate wanted to add funding, which was called a budget gimmick, for who knows what in addition to what's needed for the health care. Hopefully they get back to it and pass what's needed with out the BS.

We need a Constitutional Amendment which requires that all bills deal with ONE subject. None of this adding on all kinds of unrelated garbage (which is often used just to kill a bill).

The current situation provides too much room for shenanigans and too much cover for the creators of shenanigans.

One subject. Either vote it up or vote it down. Then we know who stands where.

Maybe I don't understand the definition of gaslight. Please enlighten me.

Poobear's comment only stated others less deserving (undocumented immigrants) probably receive better health care then the vets. How does this statement belittle vets?

The problem with the bill was the millions that had been tacked on that had nothing to do with Vets.

Many good and needy bills are destroyed with pork barrel junk being added.

Of course, the bill had spending that had nothing to do with Vets. Read the details. Politicians do what they do and put unrelated items in and then say … but … but … but what about the Vets.

Whether or not you like Jon Stewart, he has made it his mission in life to
fight for better health care for first responders and veterans. Some of you, I'm sure, belong to one or both those groups, so this should interest you.

This.

Pork. I understand some of the reasons why it exists and for some of those reasons I don't agree with the use of the practice. One reason it's used is because governing is complicated in trying to please everyone, which rarely happens. Because of the complexity combined with the numbers of bills, proposals, etc that come through, they can't itemize each and every one of them, it's not possible. So they pack a bunch of it together. Another reason is they'll load it up with pork so 'hopefully' it'll pass without anyone actually reading it. "We have to pass it to know what's in it".

Remember all of this during the next election or two. We need to start getting these politicians who are failing to do their jobs out of office and get new blood in that will actually work. And this applies to both parties.

The politicians that stick special interest garbage in bills are generally the ones that yell the loudest and run to the MSM when the bills are voted down or don't even make to to a vote.

If you are waiting for agent orange cases it is too damn late.
But he smoked cigarettes , and smoked pot, and drank like a fish. We do not think the US has anything to do with his cancer.

Hate to quote Rambo but:
Got himself killed in 'Nam, didn't even know it. Cancer ate him down to the bone.

The Senate voted Tuesday night to pass a long-sought bipartisan legislation to expand health care benefits for millions of veterans exposed to toxic burn pits during their military service, sending the bill to President Joe Biden to sign into law. The final vote was 86-11.
Passage of the bill marks the end of a lengthy fight to get the legislation through Congress, as veterans and their advocates had been demonstrating on Capitol Hill for days. Many veterans were allowed into the Senate gallery to watch the final vote on Tuesday evening.
