I am a new owner of a 2021 model BX1880. I have only had it for three days, with minimal experience. The first day of use was uneventful, but I noticed a strange loud noise coming from under the seat when in motion on the second day. I did not move the tractor far, checked the transmission, and it required two quarts of fluid—no sign of a leak externally. It was still making a terrible noise after refilling the transmission and looking for suggestions for troubleshooting.

Can you video the noise and upload to YouTube? Likely the hydraulic pump and if low enough to suck some air in, might take a while before all of the air is purged.

That sounds encouraging, I will work on the video,
Is the noise most noticeable while the tractor is in motion? could be the hydrostatic whine
What fluid did you top it off with?
Try lowering the 3PH a little. does the noise go away? Assuming you have a loader, lower, raise, curl, uncurl. Does the noise change?

You were own to something. I discovered that the belly mower would not lower, nor could I adjust the mower height. Based on some you tube education I thought maybe I was running at too low RPM. I assumed low was of value, so I was down at about 1800 RPM. I lowered the 3PH and that helped, then bumped up the RPM to 3000 and Bingo....now the whine went away, and all the functions worked properly.

I went to a dealer and bought a gallon of the spec fluid, fortunately they are only about 20 minutes away.

Thanks All!

2 quarts low after three days? New tractor I assume? If so, I think the dealer should have given you that gallon of hydraulic fluid, which I assume is Kubota brand...obviously the tractor was not prepped properly.

Also, check the fluid level in the front axle...probably low too...they frequently seem to be, from reports posted here at OTT.
