Hi all brand new to the forum and I just had a quick question I have a front end loader on my L185dt and I was wondering if you guys could tell me which one I have thanks in advance.
Thanks I appreciate it. Should definitely be able to find it with a little digging. (Pun intended)Try this to see if you can figure it out
Go to Kubota dot com and illustrated parts list
Agree with the terms
Search model number L185dt
Then select Local Options
There will be a list of implements that were available for the tractor
That would show you what models of loaders were available
Look at the parts and see if you can determine the difference between them
Look carefully on your loader. Most have a tag of some sort with the model number. Thanks I appreciate it. Should definitely be able to find it with a little digging. (Pun intended)
L1200 is a strange model number. Kubota USA and Messick's do not recognize it. The online manual for the Model 1200 loader (no L) has Kubota Tractor Corporation plastered all over it but that model number is not found in a wildcard search of online parts. And the part numbers in the 1200 manual are not valid Kubota numbers and come up empty at both Kubota and Messicks.Look carefully on your loader. Most have a tag of some sort with the model number.
But I believe the only OEM loader for your tractor was the L1200
You'll find literature labeled variously:L1200 is a strange model number. Kubota USA and Messick's do not recognize it. The Kubota USA parts page lists the L1730 loader in the Options tab for that tractor. It bears a striking resemblance to the pictures in the 1200 manual

Yes there are lots of third party references to a Model L1200 loader. You'll find literature labeled variously:
Kubota L1200 Loader - Service and Repair
Kubota L1200 Front End Loader: Service and Repairtractorgearbox.com
'Official' Kubota 'lit' doesn't include the prefix 'L' but when searching for info, best to search both ways to pick up all the info you can find.
Yes, I understood your point...and it is well taken.Yes there are lots of third party references to a Model L1200 loader.
My point was that a model 1200 loader is not found in any of the current OEM databases in any form or variant and the part numbers in the online copy of the Kubota "OEM" manual are not valid Kubota part numbers.
Kubota seems to think the loader model numbers for those years and models of tractors are the L1700 and L1730.
To me that suggests the Kubota Model 1200 loader was a rebranded third party loader that Kubota no longer supports. If I walk into a Kubota dealership and tell them I need parts for a Model (L)1200 loader will they have them, be able to get them, or even know what I am talking about?

My point is I would like someone to explain where that loader fits in the Kubota lineup and if it is in fact the same as the 1700/1730.Yes, I understood your point...and it is well taken.
I'm not arguing the 'label' which you alluded to yourself in a post. (#2)
L285 Loader
Looking for a loader to install on a L285. Anyone have documentation or advice on mounting points, hydraulic connections, etc.www.orangetractortalks.com
Just making suggestions that might help the OP. The more info anyone here can provide the better.
Yes Sir, my mistake....read it too fast. My apologies and thank you for the clarification. My point is I would like someone to explain where that loader fits in the Kubota lineup and if it is in fact the same as the 1700/1730.
You have your Hokies confused in the linked thread.

Just guessing here but I strongly support that theory. I would think the 1200 was what the actual manufacturer of the loader called it and Kubota used the name internally up to a point to minimize confusion, but then also applied their own parts-naming schema to it for purposes of parts lookup etc.To me that suggests the Kubota Model 1200 loader was a rebranded third party loader that Kubota no longer supports.
