Recommendations for L2501 fuel tank pre-filter screen ?

I did a quick search here with out luck.
I have a L2501 and find the area around the filler neck and fuel tank cap is a magnet for dust, dirt and debris. I often times rely on friends and family to help with refueling due to the location of the fuel tank filler and find that as helpful as they are, they do not have the same level of concern that I do for keeping my fuel as clean as possible going into the tank. My B7100 came with a pre-filter and think this is a feature that should have been included on the L2501 and like series.

Can someone recommend a pre-filter screen that for sure fits the L2501 and will use the factory fuel cap?

Looks like most are reading this post incorrectly. The OP is looking for a filter to nest inside the tractor fill neck to eliminate the debris that may fall in while opening the fill cap. Mr funnels, funnels with screens, in line fuel filters for fuel delivery systems will not work. The BX filter noted is what he is looking for but simply does not fit his machine. I have not seen anything that fits inside the measurements that he has posted.

Exactly.
I always use compressed air before cap removal too. It’s when you turn your back for one second and see a curious wasp walking on the filler neck which can easily plug the tank outlet. If you do find anything, keep those of us with the smaller filler necks in the loop so we can prevent issues.

So I googled what is the best Mircon filter for Diesel fuel....it said 30 Microns. I get that most of what we are trying to do with these 100 Micron fuel tank opening screens is to get any large debris from passing from fuel storage tank to tractor fuel tank....and thus clog a filter...

Mr Funnel is a must have

Just buy a Mr filter and put it over the fill spout after you unscrew the cap. That’s what I do.

Thank you ! I will make more precise measurements and figure out the ID of the step down in diameter of the filler neck but this one looks like it may work! I will update the thread either way.

If it is close in diameter, but a bit too large, you may be able to trim the OD of the top part.

I was looking at using one for the fuel tank of a Grasshopper mower but the dia. of the opening was WAY to small for this strainer. Just wanting to keep large items from falling in I used a stainless steel sock.

Here's a link to similar products to show what they look like. They are called washing machine lint snare. I found some that were SS. I originally got them to catch threads from the washing machine discharge line that went to a sump pit and eventually caused problems with the sump pump.
