Rear remotes

First time poster. Hi all, I have been learning a great deal on this forum for the past 6 months and recently purchased a new B2601 with quick hitch bucket and box blade. I also purchased a lightly used KK 4' tiller and a Country Line 5' rotary mower to use once our cold and wet spring improves here in NW Minnesota. I did have a third function installed at the dealer but at some point will want to add rear remotes. Any suggestions on a DYI project and can I leverage the front 3rd function install connections for these rear remotes? Thanks in advance for your responses.

You can go with the Kubota factory remotes or roll your own.

The factory remotes are pricey but very nicely integrated. About $700 for the first remote and another $500-600 for the second depending on whether you want float or not.. Parts diagram shown below.

Or you can roll your own using an aftermarket valve It won't be as nicely integrated but you can get more valves and functionality for a lot less money.

I added 3 rear remotes via a kit supplied by Fitrite. Brian walked this hydraulic newbie through the install. In retrospect it was really easy.

By all means call Fit Rite but you will probably be told lead time is 7-8 months or more. They make very nice products but you can install your own pretty easily. Even DIY you are looking at something in the neighborhood of $500 for two rear remotes. That will not get you top and tilt - just the valves and outlets, They will easily daisy chain off the Kubota third function with just a little bit of plumbing. You will have to find a place to mount the valves and outlets on the tractor and then make the brackets.

Thanks Dan, too bad the lead time is so long but I can be patient just may need to prioritize as I want to get a pallet fork and grapple next.

joearizona Nice setup . Great way to use a loader joy stick. I like the tool box too. I had one on my Agco for years. The MX-6000 will probably get one when the current plastic one gives out.

I don’t believe the rear remotes for a B2601 are as expensive as stated above. Mine cost $1300 installed for two double acting remotes and was done in December. I believe the two remote kit is around $700-800 if you want to install yourself.

You can look at Summit hydraulics as well for aftermarket setups

You could do 2 sets of remotes using one of the 2 spool P40 valves from Summit for about $300. The plumbing is no more complicated than that selector valve from Tractor Innovations,.

B1655 - second position base kit - $194

or
B7305 - second position valve, 4 position spring center with float detent in fourth position - $348

Totals for dual remotes:

Two 3 position remotes - $1, 185
One 3 posiition and one 4 position with float - $1,256

That's up just slightly from the 2015 whole goods catalog which was $1,026 and $1.088 respectively.

But Hokie…what about all the little fittings and hoses and mounting which a novice owner would face? How much would all that add to the cost?
The solution I posted was truly a 30-minute plug-n-play., absolutely nothing else to buy or invent. YMMV

My point is that is a very dirty half solution and very expensive for what you get. The only thing it has going for it is it installs quickly.

I guarantee you I can configure, right down to the individual fittings, a complete full function dual remote system for less than that kit. Even a novice could install it on any Kubota tractor thats similar to the one in that video in less than 2 hours. It wlll give you a two spool valve mounted right next tp the loader valve and two sets of push/pull couplers mounted in the exact same breakaway bracket on the rear ROPs.

I could make money by doing nothing more than cobbling up an instruction sheet, kitting the parts, and selling them for $500.

Because I already have weeks of backlogged orders for the other things I make. I am retired and this is a hobby enterprise. But since you asked and this seems to be a regular want and does not require any real work on my part I will pull together the parts for a couple kits. I will try to make it a little prettier while I am at it.
