I really need to remember to grease the tractor on warmer days or at least put the grease gun on the mantle over the woodstove before I use it on cold days. I got it done but I had to break out the old lever action gun - it sure is easier in warm weather...

I have the Ryobi and agree they are hard to beat. Especially for the bearings that take more than a couple of pumps of grease like the ones on my boat trailer where the design pushes out the old grease out. Sweet!

I've been thinking the same thing. I've put at least 6 hrs on the loader so far this week dealing with snow. I have a Lube Shuttle and like it, especially with the LocknLube tip.
By the way, I grew up in Satellite Beach, Florida, and am freezing too! I dislike cold and take winter too personally. Not sure how much that's because I grew up where I did or the influence of my father, probably both. He grew up in Michigan and hated cold. Four of his kids including me were born in southern California, one in Georgia, and one in Florida.

Just be cautious with the powered ones. They are great for pins and bushings. If your greasing a joint with a seal pump a little and wait. The powered ones are so quick you can easily pump too much. The one benefit to the manual ones is you have better control, and less mess. To me it seems to be the quickness that blows the seals. The grease packs in too fast to move around gaps. With all that said I love mine, just know how to use it.
My neighbor just bought the Makita grease gun. He has everything Makita and wanted to add it to his tools ..... he gave me his Lincoln grease gun with case and charger....I haven't tried it yet....any Lincoln lovers or haters out there?
I'd like that, but my backyard floods. I plan on getting some fill so I can at least get a bigger shed, just need to rent a small dump truck so I can manuever where I need to put it...
I bought the DeWalt 20 volt Max grease gun a couple of years ago and I would never go back to a hand pumper grease gun. I not only use it on on my BX25 but also my cars and some railroad equipment. I am 73 and this battery powered grease gun makes my life so much easier when it comes to lubing my equipment. Worth every penny I spent on it. I have never blown a seal, knock on wood. Just don't try to force too much grease into it.
I have a half-dozen manual lever guns because they each have a different type of grease (which should never be mixed, IMO)…. and so the economics drive my decision and laughter at those of you lazy guys

Another good tip, don’t grease your machine before you use it, grease it after you use it. Grease will flow in better because the old grease is more flexible and warmer from use and you will end up with a better grease job.

I have the DeWalt 20v grease gun and it makes quick work of the greasing. The addition of the Lock-n-Lube on it, can't ask for a much simpler or easier setup.

Well, you don’t know everything even though you like to claim you do. By the way, if you actually thought about it instead of spouting off to hear yourself, greasing after you use it, is before you use it the next time. Try greasing a machine at -20f that has sat overnight and then try greasing it after it has been run for a while. Huge difference in how well it takes grease. Also when everything is warmed up from working, you will push out more of the contaminates that have worked their way in during use.That may work for an oil-change… but for greasing…. I don’t buy it. If a machine needs lubrication to avoid wear-and-tear then it needs it up-front not afterwards. (just the way I think about foreplay.)
