Hello. New to the site and have a rookie question.

I have a bx25D, I’m wanting a snowblower for the Front on my tractor. Are they hard to find? Any ideas on finding used ones?

thanks. Subby

Do they have snow where you live?
Philippi was a major Greek city northwest of the nearby island, Thasos. Its original name was Crenides after its establishment by Thasian colonists in 360/359 BC. The city was renamed by Philip II of Macedon in 356 BC and abandoned in the 14th century after the Ottoman conquest

Front blowers for small tractors are hard to find in snow country.

Man am I learning that!!! Expensive too. I’m in WV do they make a decent aftermarket front blowers for these? Or are they kubota only ? Again, I’m new. Take it easy on me. Lol.

I see lots of front-mounted snow blowers in CT and MA on the Facebook marketplace and craigslist. Some are more expensive than they should be, and sometimes you can actually catch a deal on one. I bought a used one from the tractor dealer last spring for $2200 with all the mounting hardware and it has hydraulic chute turning. That was about 1/2 the price of a new one, and the paint was barely worn off.

The WV makes more sense. Perhaps you should clarify in your profile because we do have members from the far corners of the world.

Erskine is a company which makes front blowers for small tractors. They drive the blower from the rear pto with a shaft running under the tractor. Their blowers are a heavier style than the worm gear in the middle of the auger ones normally used.

This link is for a bigger model than you could handle but it is just to give you and idea of the $

I see their current models are 60" which is too wide for the power you have. I do think they have made 47-48" and there have been used ones of these for sale.

If you are a young guy and in the middle of the snow season, buy a 3 pt rear mount so you have a working implement and then look for what you really want in the off season.

if you have SSQA and lots of snow, another option is a self powered unit, similar to what ATV/UTVs use.
3ph blower is cheapest, then front mtd, then SSQA

also look or a tired old 'dead' tractor WITH blower. use he blower, resell tractor come spring ?

I have a old Ariens 48" front mount on my BX. I did have to buy a reversing gear box so it would turn the right way. I also made my own front mount quick hitch [ designed off the Kubota one] If your handy with fabricating / welding etc: anything can be done. The blower came with a MF 1655 that I bought at a Auction. It was made to fit onto a MF GC 2300 thats when I made the quick hitch to fit it and when I got the Kubota it needed a slight mod due to the frame rails on the kubota and MF being 1/2 different.

I just spent $5k + on a new BX5455 HD snowblower for my BX25D…Buy once, cry once. This thing is a beast…55” wide and full gearbox with no chains to break. At 72, I decided to give up plowing and walking behind a snowblower. Now…if I only had a heated cab…😂
