JIS to BCI battery conversion chart.

This gets brought up fairly often here, so I wanted to add a chart to help others in the future. OE batteries in Kubotas use a JIS (Japanese Industiral Standards) rating system. Here in the States/Canada we use BCI (Battery Counsil International) group system. Here is a chart to easily identify a proper replacement battery for your Kubota.

Note: other batteries may fit your application if you want to verify physical dimensions, post orientation, and cable length.

@RCW brought up his BX battery, so I did a little more digging. The above info should apply to most B-M series Kubotas. The BX lists a 524MF/22. Here is a chart for crossing part number to BCI group.

In the BX a 24R or 26R should work, but I can’t confirm. The 26R is just slightly physically smaller then a 24R.

@Mr. K can we get this as a sticky to help others find it easily?

I just bought a new battery for my BX. That's a 26R, but not on your chart.

Are there other more inclusive charts like that with more BCI #'s?

When shopping, I found 26R at Wally, Autozone, Advanced, NAPA, and TSC.

Just know there's a lot of BX guys/gals here on OTT. ...don't know if newer BX use 26R....

If I hadn't just bought one (for $170 at NAPA), I wouldn't have mentioned it. IIRC, the Kubota Ill. parts website cited 26R BCI #.

Yes I noticed after I posted that chart. There is a better one I used before and can’t find it. But I am going to update it when I find it. Do you happen to recall the JIS number off the OE battery?
