What is this piece used for on new tiller?

I just finished cutting and mounting the pto shaft onto the Sicma Phoenix T10GE tiller. All good so far. I raised it above the ground and engaged the pto. No grinding so shaft probably short enough and it didn't fly apart so probably long enough.
I just don't know what this chromed part is used for:

The extensive manual doesn't mention it and I don't see it on the parts list. Its removeable. I'm guessing it has something to do with clearing the tines but that's just a wild ass guess.

Yep, it holds your PTO shaft up out of the dirt/floor when it's not connected to the tractor.

i wish my LP one came with it. i just use a bungee cord lol. one thing i like about the one i have is teh rear flap that you use to adjust how much the dirt gets pounded also doubles as the parking stand.

Yep, they are pricey, but worth every penny. My land pride tiller makes gardens and food plots easy peasy. I wish I woulda bought mine years ago.....

I wish I had a tiller and a skidding winch and a flail mower and a middle buster and a backhoe and mud chains and a little BX with a leaf collection system and more time to use all of it. (Don’t tell my wife. The collection is a long term project.)

Edit: And a landscape rake with hydraulic angle and gauge wheels.
