I have recently bought a Kubota B7510 used in rough shape, runs good after a lot of work cosmetically and mechanical, tractor looks like new. Found out when I first went to use it I only had low range, lever moves okay but no neutral or hi range. doesn't seem to be any resistance when I move the leaver like the is a spring unhooked or something else? Any advice would be grateful.

Could be the lever spinning on the shift shaft (broken roll pin)
could be the internal lever bent or broken
could be a bent/broken shift fork.

Look at the lever externally and see if you can see anything odd. If not, pull the 3ph housing off and in ftont of that is an inspection plate that can come off, you might be able to see something down there. Maybe able to fix it without splitting if you're lucky enough. I hate splitting B series tractors but at least they're somewhat lightweight and manageable-especially if it has a full size rops on it.

Thanks for your reply, I think everything you talked about I have done, including take the cover of the inspection port. I am confused, I am sure it was working when I bought this unit. I moved it into my shop, it was not running but I got it into neutral to move it around.

I tried about everything I could without splitting the tractor, but in the end did split the unit. it is not that hard to do but messy and very time consuming. In the end I have found the shift fork was broke, and replaced it along with spring and ball. It now works like new. see photos.
