What voltage do you have on the small wire on the starter solenoid with the key in the start position?
Low voltage there due to resistance through the safety switches is a common problem. Below 10.5 or 11
volts there and the solenoid won't pull in. If you have no volts there you have a safety switch open.

The seat switches don't affect starting on a BX24. The HST pedal switch and the PTO engagement switch do. The most common problem is the PTO lever not engaging the switch far enough. The pedal switch fails to but not very often.

When you turn the key - you have absolutely no sound? No click (other than the key)

I too think a switch is your problem - Dusty and Eserv got cha covered on what to look for.

Do you have headlamps? If not, there is a main chassis fuse that might have blown. If you think that it might be the 3 point hitch lever, cycle the handle up and down, while holding the key in the start position. That is a fast way to check. I have found that switches don't go out of adjustment, but they do fail to function as originally designed, and you can get them working again by adjusting them, but I prefer to replace, since I know that the adjustment is just a temporary fix for a switch that is eventually going to fail. Switches that are seldom used seldom fail, but the connections do go bad from corrosion.

The PTO switch doesn't go out of adjustment but the flimsy lever does bend sometimes causing it to not push the switch far enough. the lever also sticks sometimes and /or the return spring breaks or falls off!

Thanks, I hadn't thought about that as possibilities. I have noticed that there is a lot of "springiness" in some of the Kubota levers on my BX22, but I never had any issues with them. On the other hand, I can't tell you how many times I replaced the air cleaner brackets that broke from vibrations of the engine. In the first year that I owned it, I think the dealer sent me 3 or 4 because of the failures. Never could understand why they couldn't come up with a better design, when the issue first started to plague those early BX tractors.

Range selector also has to be in neutral. :)

Not on a BX24!
Really? Learn something new everyday! Seems so counter to the Kubota safety approach...so a BX24 will start in gear? Just surprises me...certainly do not have one...BX2200 is my small tractor.

Edit: I should have said my smaller tractor! My B2910 is my other tractor. Do not have a large tractor...LOL

They put the safety switch on the HST pedal on the newer series BX instead of the range lever. The tractor won't start if the HST is away from neutral and it shuts off immediately if the HST pedal is moved without an operator in the seat.

My BX has both...but no seat switch. I understand the reasoning for the difference...I try not to make assumptions but did this time! Thanks for clarifying.

Most BX2200's don't have a HST pedal switch though I understand there were a few late model ones that had a confused combination of both safety systems.

My BX2200 was delivered in July of 2003. It is not one of the last ones that I understand had the BX2230 wiring and things like a seat switch and OPC installed. Do not know anymore than this. It does have the directional-pedal-centered switch.

I can't believe I by chance stumbled on the delivery paperwork this morning...

Delivered in July 2003 it could well be a late production

The change was SN 70926. But any of the new ones should have 2 seat switches!
I realize this is a side issue, but until the OP returns to give an update, it can be helpful to others who don’t realize that a given Kubota model could have different wiring, depending on when it was produced.

My Bx2200 is SN 69914. Just to verify (what turned out to be an assumption) I tried starting it with the tractor in neutral and the directional pedal pushed off center. It started normally. My B2910 will not start if the directional led l is off center (I am pretty sure, now questioning myself). Will check that later.

So mine is like esrev described. Thanks for keeping me on my toes, eserv!
