Those are some really nice looking welds! Hopefully the weight distribution hitch will help out with towing!

If the mower is going to hang off the trailer a lot, might consider some magnetic tail lights on the end of it. That "should" make you legal, above & beyond a flag. Here in Michigan, seems anything sticking behind your vehicle needs a red flag by day, and light by night.

I've wondered if I'm missing something obvious such as loading the tractor and trailer in a different way. I could back onto the trailer and rest the loader on the ramps ..... maybe. I'd have to see if the cutter would fit that way but it would certainly change the tongue weight.

I'd probably opt for a gooseneck over a fifth wheel but neither are going to happen any time soon.
Have you ever tried detaching the mower and putting it up front with the loader over top? Might be able to get more tractor weight over the trailer wheels. It's a pain to do but it might tow a lot better if you can get weight off your trailer tongue.

I haven't tried that but I have thought about it. I'll need to take some measurements before attempting that configuration.
