I am very confused in how to replace the ball joints on each end of the steering drag link. It is the main rod coming from the gear box to the steering knuckle. The ball joints seem to be welded on and not replaceable unless there is a rebuild kit. If anybody has any info can you please guid me in the rite direction. I have a B7100hst-d.

Drag link is a one piece unit... ends are not replaceable separately

Oh man that stinks. They want 700 bucks for a new one. That's insane. I can't believe that a suspension shop can put a new ball joint in there. Man I'm bummed

If you can find a tie rod end in an auto parts store, WITH THE SAME TAPER, a welder / fab guy could cut the bad end off and weld the new one on.

Take Pau'7220s advice. --------cut through the weld and install matched ends. I cut mine when I needed to shorten the drag link to install power steering on my B7100. If I remember correctly the ends need a 7 1/2 degree taper. The drag link is solid steel with holes drilled into each end that has the ball joint inserted then welded. So when you cut them off do not cut straight through the assembly. make shallow cuts around the outside until you have released the ball end.

Thank you for that info. That's what I was thinking needed to be done. I just didn't know for sure because the original ones look like they are welded on there. I'm gonna have to look into that for sure. Thank you much
