If you don't let the grass get too long between mowings it should work. If the grass gets too long it will bog down and you'll have to reduce your ground speed.

I'm not quite sure what they mean by 4/8" deck thickness. I'm relatively sure that deck shell is not made from 1/2" plate. It would weigh a wee bit more than 660 pounds if it was. But yeah, your B will definitely handle that mower, easily. I think I'd shop a little more for similar quality at a lower price ,though.

These are nice mowers, Italian made. The deck is 4mm / 8 gauge thickness. Also sold by Everything Attachments at a similar price including delivery over a large part of the US.

Your B2601 can handle it depending on what you are cutting and how fast.

The B2601 has a 19.5HP rear PTO rating, The available mid mower deck on the B2601 was a 54" and 60", In my opinion a 72" rear finish mower is at the very top end of the limit for the available PTO HP.

With a 54" or 60" rear finish mower you would probably be able to cut the same amount of acreage faster and more efficiently with your machine than with the 72" finisher mower.

Appreciate it. I have 4.5 acres that needs mowed, but I don't want to sacrifice speed as the whole point of a 72" over a 60" is to reduce time mowing.

Thanks for the info

As I recall a rough rule of thumb is 5HP for every foot of implement on the PTO I could be wrong though, cause things change all the time. Based on that 60 inch would be on the edge, a 72 might be a tad on the high side. Could you run it sure, if what you were mowing wasnt to heavy, could it lift it most likely, but the front end might get a little light. Just MHO, sometimes going big is not the answer

It’ll handle it. But if your lawn is not flat, a six foot mower might not give a good even cut in some places. I cut about five acres a week with mine in the summer with a 60 MMM in med. gear with the go pedal mashed and it takes about 3 1/2 hrs. Comes out nice. EA551AF5-EBD4-4002-896F-13649830514E.jpeg

I ran a 72" Land Pride rear finish mower behind my B2301. Also had a 60" mower of same line. The 2301 cut pretty well with the 72", and very well with the 60". As long as field grass was mowed every two weeks there was never an issue. If let go for a month, I had to run the mower higher and a little slower, but that was true with both sizes. Did "ok" on moderate hills. The 60 was easier to move around obstacles. Both were nice because they definitely cut wider than the tires! I sold the 60 when I sold the little B. last fall. Still have the 72 but use it behind an L3560.

With the number of zero turns on the market today you should be able to find a good used finish mower at a reasonable price.
