Used Blizzard 64 - value??

I have an opportunity to pick up a Blizzard 64 blower with hydraulics and skid shoes. The seller is asking more than I last paid ($1500) for my Normand, which was similarly sized and equipped. That was 6-8 years ago and I really don't have a feel for what this blower is worth.
I just inspected it and it appears in very good condition. Any idea of where the market is on this?

I paid $2000 Canadian, roughly $1900 USD for one in November. I was underwhelmed with its performance and the dealer gave me full price on the trade to a new Bubota K64-24-7. I would try before you buy if possible.

It looks like a new one with chute rotate hydraulics is about $3,100 to $3,500 (Expensive!).

A competitive model from WoodMaxx for an SB-60 or SB-72 with hydraulic rotate and hydraulic deflector runs about $2,700 - $2,800 for new units including delivery. Currently have offer for a USA pto shaft included. WoodMaxx weights at least another 100 lbs.

Based on these prices and the fact that you said it was in very good condition, I'm sure the seller is looking for at least $1,800 - $2,200 for the Blizzard 64.

yes, UpNorthMi he was asking $2500 but without me making an offer he dropped to $2200 while we spoke. It does have both the hydraulic chute and deflector, something I would really want. I will definitely look into the WoodMaxx as I just put together their WC68 and have a real good feeling about their product.

Gallows good idea but there are two problems. He got a bigger tractor and new larger blower and this one doesn't fit. Also it was raining like hell today at least it's better than more snow.

What has me hesitating to make an offer is the end of winter snows are pretty close. I wouldn't get any real use out of it for 10 more months. . .

If I could get this for $1500 I would and call it a day.

I think the WC68 is a Woodland Mills chipper, WoodMaxx is another company, they make well made equipment, I use their USA made chipper and a 72” rear snow blower, my snow blower will clear some serious amount of snow, they are heavy duty.

when buying used attachments that have gearboxes and hydraulics, I will not pay 75% of the cost of a new one even if it is in good condition. I would rather spend the extra money for new as I’m planning to keep and use that attachment for the long term. One main component failure will quickly use any saving you made buying used, downtime is also an extra cost to consider.

Some sellers also take a view that it cost so much so that it should be worth so much, sometimes I’m amazed at used prices, but I guess they must sell eventually. Good luck in your negotiations.

Why not offer him the 1500 you are willing to pay, and politely tell him the reasons you have arrived at that price. If he doesn,t accept that, maybe you could meet half way, if you are willing to increase your offer that much. I would think the fact that it is relatively close to you is a bonus as well.

Let it sit and see if it is there in the middle of summer. If it is then offer the 1500 to get it out of his way. If not it was not meant to be.

I was just shopping blowers in the North East, since October. I got a few guys down to $2200 for nearly new land pride units. That seemed to be the floor. I talked myself out of them, and ended up having to buy one brand new when the storms came. I dont think you are going to get sub $2000 realistically esp during the winter.

Just to add manufacture chute kits themselves are around a grand. Blizzard units have a good reputation as well.
