I am looking at the wiring schematic for a B2920 and I see little numbers ranging from 0.85 to 0.5 to 2.0, etc. They appear right next to the wire color. What does these numbers mean? Thanks.

Is it DIAMETER of wire in MM or Sq MIl's?

I think it is diameter - might be wrong - but as you can see - big difference between

I am with Jim L.

The number is the cross sectional area of the wire measured in square millimeters.

Fusible link wire markings make this fact clear.

That makes sense. The larger the number, the thicker the wire. Thanks.

If you think of “gauge” as “how many times did it get rolled thinner” it makes good sense. So 2 gauge (twice through rollers) is thicker than 10 gauge (10 times through rollers).

If you want real bass-ackwards the Metric 'equal' to MPG is L/100Km !!! But it's not, it's TOTALLY different...
