I find myself wishing I had bought a unit with the FEL. I have searched without success for people who have added it to their BX tractor.

Does anyone remember a link or reference to how feasible doing this is? I am very mechanically capable, I own a press, MIG welder, plasma cutter, lots of tools, etc.

Any information, links or advice is very much appreciated.

Adding a loader isn't rocket science. The problem is that it's usually cheaper to buy a tractor with a loader already on it than adding a new OEM or aftermarket loader to an existing tractor.

You can probably find a used loader and rig it to your tractor, it's just going to take you time and money to get there.

My recommendation would be to trade your tractor in for one with a loader already on it. Kubota is offering some 0% finance deals, you might get lucky and trade your machine in for a brand new one with the bells and whistles you want for about the same differential price as adding a loader to yours.

Isn't the BX2380 the 'sister' to my BX23S ?
If so, then Kubota LA340(s) loader would fit,and WORK first time.

Designing a loader from scratch is a HUGE job, BTDT..months of trial and error, lots of error.... however you can 'cheat' by copying the LA340 dimensions. Have a very good look at what is needed, like hydraulics and mounts, etc.

I see 4 choices.

1) design/build your own. LOTS of time and $$ needed, hopefully get it right the 1st time...

2) buy loader system from Kubota, $$$ but works 1st time

3) buy aftermarket 'kit' if available,$$ should work...

4) sell your BX2380, buy one with loader

I guess I should have been more specific in my original message.

I meant to ask about adding a Kubota FEL to my BX2380, not building one from scratch.

I am open to adding an aftermarket unit but I am guessing that will be just the bucket, not the quick connect, controls, etc.

I was hoping someone had done it and had a list of the parts - the quick connects, the controls, etc.

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far - I appreciate it.

Being that its the current production BX, have you asked your dealer? They should be able to get you what you need.

If you build a new BX on the Kubota site and add the loader it gives you these two numbers, the valve kit and loader assembly. Not sure if its everything. Talk to the sales dept at the dealer.

A bx2380 has the loader hydraulics already installed from the factory. Go to the dealer and get a frame and loader. Boom, done.

Bush Hog brand makes a fel for the bx 2200. I bought one some years ago and it came with everything but one fitting. $2700, at the time. Took about 6 hours to install. never any problems and it was still on it when I sold it.
