L3710 bucket cylinder has cracked gland.

The tilt cylinder (LA682 loader) has a cracked gland. None are available and I must buy the entire cylinder for over $650. I believe both lift and bucket cylinders use the same gland.
I am hoping someone there has a scrap cylinder that might have a good gland. I sure would appreciate any suggestions.

The gland is the threaded piece that the shaft runs thru that goes on the end of the cylinder.

I'd investigate having a local machine shop making new if you can't find used.

I can see. I'm good with that. Need the right done now. 3 weeks.

I had it to the best hydraulic repair shop around here. There is a hairline crack from the center hole thru the threads. That makes brazing or welding difficult.
I am sure there are cylinders around that have been damaged but the gland is still good. The problem, finding it.

Might send a PM to "007Kubotaguy" on this forum. He has parts of older L tractors and maybe you'll luck out.

I'd think just about any machine shop could make the gland at much less cost then a new cylinder.

Wonder what's so special about the gland? I had to replace one on my Kuhn mower 2 years ago and the shop I use had one on the shelf. They rebuilt the cylinder and replaced the gland for like $80. I was very happy with that.

I would be happy also but he part is obsolete and no longer available. I cannot find a part number for it to see if someone had one on the shelf. I made an expensive mistake here. In looking for the part number for the cylinder I came across a number that said replaced by xxxxxx part which was the cylinder. I then looked for the old part number, found one for a good price. It was just the shaft which I have and is good. So unless they will take it back this cylinder iw going to cost over $1000. That is why I am hoping for a used gland from somewhere. Or even a new one. It may fit several models but I have no way of knowing.

There is a L3710 for salvage on Tractorhouse that is burned out. It has a loader on it. Might be able to get the gland or the whole cylinder off it.

You can go to Kubota Tractor Corp website and enter you model tractor and then the loader and get all the part numbers. It appears to me you need part number 75554-64410, which they call the "head".

I thank you for your research. I will grab it for sure but I am waiting for a response to return the wrong part I ordered. I also ask them about the part I need and I want to be sure they do not have it. They don't respond quickly so I have reservations about returning it. We'll see. I was able to return the part. Going to cost about $80 but its better than eating he part.
The part was the correct one and it is on order.

Well talk about being run up and down the emotional scale. just got an email saying they no longer have this part and there is no sub.
Back to the drawing board. Gonna try the burned tractor.

I would find a different hydraulic shop. One that has the ability to make and machine parts. The ones that do that can also build cylinders from scratch to fit the applications.
