Len and I were talking yesterday and he mentioned this cool tool used for taking down trees. I had never seen it before and thought I'd post it up for anyone who might need something like this. Thanks Len!

That unit could impart quite a shock load on any ATV frame. Little ones, not a big deal, bigger ones could be devistating to the running gear.

I'd love to see the video out-takes and bloopers... where the guy goes flying over the handlebars when he hits a rock or a tree thats too big.

Here's another design. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRj14_sxBlY&feature=youtu.be

Here's their pricing. http://www.theperfecttreesaw.com/pricing.html

Now Ray, you just need to start gathering steel and get going!

I was going to build one for my D2. I called the guy and talked to him quite a bit, but just never got fired up enough to start. I know some guys who work for the county and I did some work at their yard one time, so I have access to some "used' maintainer blades....8 footers, I think. That was going to be my cutting tooth.

Better on a tractor... wear that seat belt for the first time.

(There is a huge movement to plant 20 million trees in the next year. I'd imagine watching these videos of a guys banging down 20 live trees a minute would trigger that entire group...:) Or at least demoralize the poor guys who have to plant them.)

In the state of Kansas the Meadowlark and Red-winged black bird do an excellent job of planting trees. They enjoy the cones from the Red Cedars and then go set on a nearby fence for a bread. While setting there they plant several seeds.

Therefore our fence rows always have a fine crop of Red Cedars of all sizes. About the only thing that kills them is fire and cutting them off at ground level. They require no spray to terminate growth, they're done when cut low. If left to grow they will soon take over a pasture.

This is why such tools are being marketed, quick, easy and effective.
