water flange L2650

can anyone help me? I need to replace the water flange on my L2650, and to get to the bolts behind the water pump is very tight. what all would I have to take off to get to them.

When I had an L2050 and had similar repairs needed, here's what I made to do the job. Just took an older box end wrench, cut it off and welded it to a not good screwdriver. I ground the outside of the wrench to make it narrower to fit in. It's slow, but it beat removing the head to get to it!!

To get to it without a tricky wrench like D2Cat shows (I have one somewhere that is similar) you either have to pull the gear case or the the head. :eek:

Check with your local High School to see if they offer any welding classes, or Junior College.

Now days you can get a welder for under $200, watch some YouTube videos, and start melting some wire. You soon get better at the process and amaze yourself....but you have to get started!

Anyone can weld. especially with a 'glue gun' (Flux core MIG). Skill level is somewhere between a rock and a Democrat.:rolleyes:
