Has any one installed a linear actuator on the chute defector of their snowblower? And I'm not talking about the one Kubota sells. They want $500.00. Not going to happen. I bought one from Eco-Worthy.com for under $40.00. However I need two spacers to mount it to the chute. This actuator uses either a 1/4" bolt or a 5/16" one. Any ideas where to buy those? My tractor is a L5030 with a L2185A blower. I had this already mounted but a bolt broke and I lost the spacer and cannot remember where I had bought them.

Princess Auto has a nice assortment of linear actuators for sale right now for anyone considering doing the mod.

Just put a Princess Auto 4", 200lb linear actuator on a snowblower chute today. Works well on the heavier-duty blowers with their thicker metal. The one today, on a B2550, wasn't quite as successful as a result of the metal in the chute being of lighter gauge so it's flexing more than I'd like. The actuator itself works a charm. So does the power seat motor as a replacement for the hand crank.
