I'm thinking its a bit much too - BUT you do have 30 HP to do it with.
Might need to be in 4WD however

Horsepower is not the problem but weight. One of the biggest factors on how much a given tractor will pull is how heavy the tractor is. A B7800 w/FEL even with filled rear tires weights in at less than 3,000 lbs. If you have R1 tires that will help. Also the type and water content of the ground you are working has a big influence. Traction is a function of weight !

For reference I have pulled a 5' offset disc harrow with our B7510 (21 engine hp) equipped with R1 tires and no additional weight (no loader, tires not loaded, no suitcase weights, nothing other than a bare, open-station tractor). The soil was light loam and quite dry. It was slow going in low range on the HST, but it did work.

You are quite right, if you have heavy pulling to do low range is the speed to do it.

B7800 is a 30HP tractor so it should be able to pull it HP wise, but as others have stated you might be on the light weight side, so loaded tires and wheel weights might be required.

It's too much so it will depend upon conditions and the weight and aggressiveness of the disc.

If you have R-1 tires, your tractor is well ballasted, the disc is not too heavy and the conditions are light, you should be able to pull it but not well.

If the disc is three point mounted, you certainly will not be able to lift it without a full set of front weights.
