Hi friends,

I'm having hydraulic problems with the loader on my Kubota L2900 and am hoping that someone here would be gracious enough to help. It all started while my wife was clearing some brush with the loader. The loader bucket curl/roll back function stopped working (joystick left) but raise, lower, and dump continued to work.

I thought I was able to narrow the problem down to the control valve; I swapped hoses and was able to dump and curl the bucket but could no longer lower it. I tore the bad side of the valve apart and the spring was rusted in place so I ordered these parts:

75536-65600 KIT,UPPER BUCKET (F in the diagram below)

7J240-65100 KIT REGEN (B in the diagram below)

Put everything back together and now none of the joystick positions do anything and the 3 point hitch won't raise. In the pictures below, with the tractor running, if I remove the yellow hose, hydraulic fluid flows from the valve port. If I remove the purple hose, hydraulic fluid flows from the hose so there doesn't seem to be a blockage, although I do not have a gauge to test pressure.

I only have a couple quick disconnects and have checked them multiple times.

I should also mention that I changed fluid and filter last fall when fixing a leaky liquid gasket at the brake case.

Any advice you folks could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Nick

Let me start by saying I am not a hydraulics expert.
It sounds like a hydraulic hose may be reconnected to the valve in the wrong place.

Were hoses disconnected from the valve body? If the answer is yes then my suggestion will be applicable as a first check.

Many Kubota circuits have a power beyond function. Going out of the valve body will be a return line to the reservoir but also another line which supplies hydraulic pressure to the next item in line which may be the 3 pt or rear remotes.

Others with more knowledge will jump in but the above is a good starting point.

Dave, Thanks for taking the time to reply. I sure did have the hoses disconnected from the valve body, all seven hoses. I carefully wrapped each one with a colored zip tie and then made a diagram of what goes where. It's possible I labeled something wrong and will check tonight.

Thanks for being the first to reply. I'll report back later.

I had an L2900 years ago. I was having similar problems. My dealer fixed it over the phone. There is a hydraulic block under the floorboard on the right hand side facing down, there is a slotted circle about the size of a 50 cent piece. The slot should be pointing front to rear. Fore and aft. I never knew what it was but it was turned several degrees. I turned it fore and aft with a screwdriver in everything went back to work. it apparently got turned moving brush etc. This is not likely you problem but what the heck, it worked for me.

Well, isn't this embarrassing. Dave nailed it; I had two hydraulic hoses switched around. Works great now! Thanks everyone for your help!

The only thing different between you and I is that I made the same mistake before you did.

Glad it worked out. You wont forget the lesson. Just be certain to share it when someone else is looking for help with a weird problem.
