After 30+ years, I've been struggling for Christmas gift ideas for my better half.

She is the better half - just ask her!:p

She's all girlie; tools, handguns are out. We've have a great, well appointed kitchen. Jewelry - she's got lots of good stuff after all these years.

I don't tend to buy clothes - you buy her just one thing WAY too big, and holy shyte!!..:p Still hear about that one.....

Any suggestions for a good Christmas gift when you have no other ideas?? Last couple years, just gave her a gift card....

Had to ask the misses  I would have the deer in the headlight look, just as you apparently have :p:p

So, she says purses, boots, perfume, makeup.

If she likes wine, then you can do the wine of the month delivered to her.

My wife loves boots!!!!!! Especially ugg boots.

Also, there are always shows, Broadway, cirque du soleil, ect.... she says those are the bad a## gifts.

A day at the spa if she likes to be pampered. Don't forget the pedicure, nails, massage, ect....

:D:D:D:D

I know my wife's sizes and buy most of her clothes because she works in retail and hates to shop, plus she just isn't into "stuff". I recently bought her some work pants and flannel from Duluth Trading and she's about as thrilled as she gets about clothes.

A scarf If she wears them, or a nice pair of warm gloves, I buy driving gloves, wine is always good if you drink, found 4 bottles of old vintage she loves, include a gift card / certificate to a spa and / or manicure /pedicure!

Also unmentionables are always good, it's the gift that you also get to enjoy all year! ;)

What does she like to do for fun? (I take it a new tractor is out :p)
A hand written gift certificate to take her for lunch and a trip to do or buy something for her hobby. Or a mini vacation to someplace she'd like to go see.

Damn, you guys are pretty thoughtful....

If I got her unmentionables, she'd probably think I gave her my girlfriend's gift in error! (Just kidding - I'd never make that mistake;))

NYC/Broadway is just a 4 hour trip. If got her 2 tickets, she'd immediately figure out which one of her friends to take, because she knows I AIN'T GOING!

We don't have any spas in this neck of the woods.

Seriously - all great ideas, and I appreciate them.

Any others would be greatly appreciated.

Very timely.. My wife just walked in and told me what she wanted for Christmas.. I said, you mean, what ELSE you want for Christmas? It was one of those watches that keeps track of how many steps you take in a day, what your heartbeat is and , get this!!! how long you SLEPT!!! She's ordering it now on Amazon. My billfold just got thinner.

It's always nice to have a large, heavy box or two under the tree, to up the anticipation before the big day.

So: A case of SUDT2 and another of Rotella T6. Does Messick's gift wrap?

I see your about 2 hrs 45 mins from the southern berkshires, may I suggest a weekend trip the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge. Summertime there is tanglewood outdoor performance center that has good music (most expensive time to visit), some good golf courses if you golf, spas from affordable to how much (canyon ranch), Norman Rockwell musem, country curtains (don't ask but women love this place and will drain your bank account :(), and a lot of good places to eat. There are other places to stay down there and wintertime is off season but very peaceful. There is a lot of outdoor things to do as well. Ohh yeah there are designer outlets in Lee right off of rt 90.

other thoughts....

Gift Certificate to a hair dresser she normally wouldn't spend that kind of money on, or one she goes to on the regular.

After reading this i find myself quite lucky. All christmas shopping was completed last month. Wife did it all. Also ordered heself a couple pandora charms.
Our big gift is a 2 week holiday on a panama cruise. If mama aint happy, nobody's happy. I could never get anything right when i went shopping for her, even when she wrote ot down. Go figure. Or maybe it was an evil plan for me to get out of christmas shopping.

Have you tried Harry and David? I use them for friends and relatives. Fruit of the month or dessert of the month clubs. You can't go wrong with good food!

Nothing says Merry Christmas like a new "just for her" tractor implement.

Thanks, everyone. You really did give me several ideas!!

I also put out a plea to our twin daughters, that have moved away.

Feeling better about it already, and I have 11 days!

Just one word of caution Do NOT buy anything that has a power cord. I made that mistake once many years ago and I am very fortunate to still be married to my wonderful wife. 35+ years and still going strong in spite of my ignorance.

Buy her some Harley clothes. My wife empties my wallet every time we go to the Harley dealer. BTW, SHE is the one that bought me my Harley. Honest to goodness.

So we went to a Snap-On christmas sale at my dealer's house. Drinks and snacks and discounts. Wife picked out a nice jacket for herself,t-shirts and gift cards. Needless to say, my snap on purchases exceeded 1000 this month.
Some was actually tools i need.
So that was something i forgot to mention earlier, so some nice gifts for both of us.
