Good Afternoon,

It looks like I'm going to go with the B2650 for 5 acres at the new house (skipping the 3350 due to the plague it has). Anyway the tractor will be used for mowing and occasional loader work for landscaping around the house. I'm not going with a zero turn because I want something that can do more than cut grass, and my b7100 just isn't enough tractor.

Anyway I just wanted to look for some feedback as far as the rear mount mowers. I'm leaning towards a 72" woods PRD mower and just wanted to see opinions on if it is too much mower for the tractor? The mower is rated for a minimum of 20 pto hp and the 2650 puts out 19.5, but as we all know in the tractor world torque is what counts and i'm thinking the 2650 should have enough at 54 ftlbs.

The property is relatively flat with some gradual sloping, nothing majorly steep like my prior house (2.5 acres with a pretty good hill that was cut with a b7100 towing a woods 60" rd rmm)

Anyway I just wanted some feedback. I agree with people that more tractor hp is always better but if I went to the L series I'd want the Grand L for the optional mid PTO since I may go with a snow blower in the future, but that just puts it to the limit of my budget to where I really don't want to be.

Thanks

Kubota tractors have a section in the manual which has recommended maximum implement weights. This is not related to HP or lift capacity, but seems to be more about handling and balance.

It may be worth comparing the mower weight to the recommendations.

I use a Woods Heritage RD60 on the back of my B2650. I have 6 acres of timber and this setup can get into some tight places.

The heritage rd60 is what I have behind my b7100 but was just thinking of going 72" because the property is mostly open... use to have 3 horse / livestock paddocks on it. Just wanted to see if it was too much mower from others experiences.

Also is anyone able to check their manual to see if the mower would be too heavy for what kubota recommends? I believe the prd7200 weights around 710.

I ran a 6' rear mount mower on a B8200 years ago and it cut fine, but made the front end to light when raised. 150 lbs on the front fixed the balance problem somewhat.
I suspect with a B2650 and FEL you will be fine with the weight and balance. HP to run the mower will not be an issue.

I run a Land Pride FDR 1672 3 pt 72" mower on my B2650 to mow 3 acres out back and it handles it no problem at all.
