I've got a Kubota l3130 hst that just all of a sudden quit moving forward and reverse. All hyd. Functions work properly and strong. If I rev it up and try to go forward it will slightly jump and the pump starts screaming but will not move. Any ideas?

Could be forward of the HST and it's got a blown clutch.
Could be the HST has issues and needs repaired or replaced.
Could be rearward of the HST and it has a differential issue.

If your a good mechanic then it's something to get into, if your not, send it to a dealer as it requires testing that the normal mechanic can't do.

I'll send you a download link for the WSM it might give you some hint as what to look at.

Probably clutch. I've done several of them last year. Splines in the disc get torn out easier than I like to see. New disc is a little different part number so I want to say that they're stronger-but I don't know that because I have no way to test them.

........ If I rev it up and try to go forward it will slightly jump and the pump starts screaming but will not move........
How many hours on the machine? Had since new? Any symptoms in the weeks or months before it stopped moving? In normal use do you use the foot clutch pedal often or rarely (using the HST instead)? If the screaming noise starts and stops with the clutch pedal is it the same in L, M,and H?

It sounds like the clutch disk center has broken out. The HST unit is probably ok. If the clutch isn't driving, the HST's charge pump doesn't turn so there's no drive in either direction. The screaming noise is likely the broken clutch center parts rubbing instead of driving.

Ok that would be great also anybody know how I can check the pump pressures i.e. Where to tap into

From the symptoms the cause is hard to pinpoint. If it wouldn't move forward or back, the clutch could be a possible cause. But if it later changed and moved forward slowly, eventually moving forward ok but still with no reverse, that points more toward HST linkage. It has several rods and pivots where something could be loose, bent, broken, blocked etc. The WSM has info on checking, adjusting, etc. There's a related thread on loss of HST reverse here.

There are ports and procedures for checking pressures set out in the WSM. The threaded ports have British straight pipe threads - charge pump circuits run approx 400-500 psi - main drive circuits are ten times higher - approx 5500 psi. Need the right fittings and gauges - and an abundance of caution.
