So doing my 50 hour service really soon, and since I have been hearing how quiet the SUDT2 is for the HST whine, I want to change it out.

Bought the bx25 used, no manual. Can anyone tell me how much I need?

If I buy extra for down the road - how long can it be stored for (assuming it can be bought in 5 gallon pails)

As long as the fluid is stored under cover it should last a long time :D Five gallon pails are prone to contamination when stored outside. Water pools around the spout and can get into the pail

Thanks guys, I now have a manual for the bx25 :D

So a little over 3 gallons for the hst. And here I was debating to get 2.5 gallon or 5 gallons. So 5 gallons it is :)

Guess it can be used in the front also

To my knowledge, all kubota equipment comes pre-filled from the factory with Super UDT2, front axles and hydraulic sumps both. Same for most (if not all) of the RTV's.

Anyone know if lugbolt is right? I am at 51 hours on my bx25. Gonna do the 50 hour service, but was also gonna do the SUDT2 to the rear trans since everyone says it quiets down the HST whine.

But if SUDT2 is already in there? Changing it out isn't gonna do too much. 50 hours isnt the required trans changeout time frame.

I can't tell you for sure what comes in the tractor but I do know I bought my BX new in 2012. I changed my fluid using SUDT2 at the 50hr mark and had ZERO difference in the volume of the HST. If SUDT2 make's it quieter than my 2012 already had it.

Bummer. Another dream shattered!

My service guys thought the change to SUDT would help. Maybe they hadn't gotten that memo yet.

Oh well... batteries for my headset are cheap.

When I got my L3560 new in 2014, I asked the dealer when he was going to deliver it, to bring with him a quart of whatever oil and whatever transmission lubricant was in it, so I'd have some on hand. He brought UDT. My HST doen't have a whine, or at least I don't know what it is. I did change to Super UDT-2 at the first service, since that was what was recommended in the manual "for an enhanced ownership experience". Wondered what that meant! I thought when I got it back it was a little quieter. I took back my spare bottle of UDT and exchanged for Super UDT-2, and at the time they said the two were miscible.

The only reason I changed it, and my instructions to the tech were, if you find a lot of crap in the filters when you pull them, change the oil, even though it is early. I guess he did.

Since 1995, I have been told the same thing every year. Prefilled with Super UDT (which superceded to Super UDT2 in the mid 2000's). Was told by division service manager that super udt2 comes in all tractors, spoke with him in 2010, then 2012,13,14, did not see him last winter (15). I can find out real easy with a phone call or email.
