There are just some titles that you just have to comment on  I'm thinking the loose nuts in the seat pertain to most of us in some way shape or form :D:p don't know why kubota has to send a letter out warning us about it on some models :D:p:D

It was so cold this winter snow blowing that I don't think I could find mine yet .
Seriously though , the one that the seat swivels on has loosened up on mine twice . Changed it out to a nylock and problem solved . Also the bolts that hold the dipper stick lever on the backhoe came out on me . Looked like they were never tightened from the start . Blue locktite and another problem solved . No letter about either .

Update,,,, just went down and got the mail and I too received a letter . Funny thing is I already fixed it . But ya , like I'm going to rent a trailer , haul the machine thirty miles just to have a jam nut replaced . Some things are better fixed on your own .

Last summer my seat fell off when I was turning it to use the backhoe. It was about four month old, with thirty odd hours on it. I took a few photos, and emailed the dealer. His parts guy noticed some small parts missing in the photos, and sent me everything I needed, including an exploded view. I check the jam nut now whenever I grease the tractor, but haven't had any problems with it. Only trouble I've ever had with my Kubota.

From another post on this forum, I'd say that loose nuts behind the wheel are more dangerous...:D
This is off topic, but a young relative was killed in a head on collision yesterday. The other car had 4 kids ages 14-19, two of them died too. A little after midnight on a desert hwy. I'd like to blame the kids, (how come their parents didn't have them home at that hour?) but I don't know, and probably no one will ever know. Maybe a tumbleweed blew across the road and someone swerved. Or maybe the teen driver was a loose nut behind the wheel. So sad.

How many loose nuts are on these thing anyways, had a hose nut on the BH swing cylinder blow at only 6 hours on a new machine lost 2/3 hygo oil all over the place?

Just have to keep checking for the nuts I guess.

I got the same letter and laughed at it. I use my backhoe a lot, and the seat has come loose on me before, actually falling off the pivot when I turned it to dig. I tightened it up, and when it came loose again, I replaced it with a nylock. I never saw the second jam nut, so I guess it fell off before it got loose. just a bad design. If the nylock I installed ever comes loose I'll get a drilled bolt and wire tie it in place. the good thing is its still the only problem I've had with it
