How do I manually heat up my glow plugs?

I've lost my key to the tractor. I think I dropped it somewhere in the snow so there's no finding it for the time being. I plan to jump the starting solenoid, but I've never messed with glow plugs before. How do I go about manually heating them up? I know I put power to them, but where at? This is a Kubota L295dt.

You have a dealer near by? They ought to have a "key" - I would not simply jump the key switch - unless it is a life or death situation. If nothing else - and I know you can get another key easily - I would replace the switch...that would be a expensive choice, but screwing around by bypassing the current switch could mess up the rest of the electrical circuitry! Just my 2 cents

The closest dealer is about 45min away and although my road is clear for the most part I cannot get out of my driveway.

If you have a pile of old keys lying around, see if one of them will work.
My B7100 starts with an old '60s Chevy key that I had in the junk box.

My L1500 key is the same as the L305. Probably all that series are similar. When I went to the dealer to buy a L305 key they didn't have on and the one they ordered didn't fit.

To heat your GP's jump 12 volts from the battery to the GP terminal closest to the firewall where the wire comes from the switch. 15 seconds should be plenty of time.

ZQ8 Blazer, don't be concerned about messing up "electrical circuitry", as you know it's minimal.

Have to have the safety switch at the clutch activated, and transmission in neutral, as you jump the starter.

If possible, make sure you have enough fuel available to get the job done without having to shut down in the middle...

The key for my L185 was available and I ordered it from the dealer by part number, they did not have one on the shelf. It looks exactly like that picture.

It is about $8 from Messicks and you may be able to get it express shipped directly to your door (but that would probably cost more than the key)

Piece of cake hook a jumper lead to the starter solenoid trigger wire also one to the glow plug stud at the back of the engine closest to the seat you will see power bar attaches all the glowplug a together. Jump the glowplugs for 15-30 seconds then tap your starter and go get to work

Thanks guys. Turns out my grandmothers basement key turns it on...

Now I've found a pair of keys that fit a L295, but doesn't have L295dt listed. The keys look the same so I'm guessing both tractors use the same key?
