pin style quick attchment FEL bent ??

I have a pin style quick attachment for my implements front loader forks basket lift I have bent the face part on the loader end and have heard you can try and fix with block of wood being placed in areas of the front hydraulic cylinders ?? please help

Check the air pressure in rear tires. These types of situations sometimes are not something bent, but lack of proper air in tires exhibiting as uneven front equipment levels.

If the landing pads are out of time, you can reset them with a block of wood or a chain and a big tree.

Mine was bent from the factory. The first time I tried to put a new implement on it wouldn't go. I finally forced it and the dealership sent a guy over and they saw that it was defective and replaced it.

If the landing pads are not at the same point in the stroke, So one is farther out than the other, it makes it very hard to hook up implements, even if it's off a little bit.

It's fairly easy to fix, one way to do it is to chain the leading pad back to the tractor then roll the pads forward till they are in alignment.

Note: If it's extreme it might require cutting the welds on the cross tube of the hitch, realigning it and then re welding the cross tube.

Wolfman, thank you for your answer...I follow your postings and advice to others.

I bought a used Grand L5740 with a LA 854 loader..and a new bucket on it...

everything looked great until I removed the bucket and tried to put the snow plow on....then I noticed I had all sorts of issues doing that...

Soon with the nothing attached and the boom up about 4 feet and with the use of 2 4ft. levels...I was able to determine that the right pad is about 1to 1 1/4 inch further forward then the left pad...and that difference is the same thru the entire cycle. it is a pain to change implements....I was a bit reluctant to start ramming and jamming for fear of wrinkling something...or doing worse damage...

I have plenty of trees and lots of chain...I just worried about bending something...i am not certain at what point...do you go beyond the chain and the trees to a shop where someone may know more than me...

Is the Quick Attach system physically bent or are the hydraulic cylinders "out of time"? If they are "out of sychronization", you might try bleeding the hydraulic valve at the fitting. Mine are "in time" so I haven't had this problem. If the actual coupler is bent, then it becomes a "gorilla fix".

You can't "bleed" the system to get them timed, there is a metal cross bar that times them.

A friend has suggested cutting that bar---attaching a sleeve---aligning the landing pads properly and then welding the bar solid ----since the difference is consistent thru the entire cycle----that suggestion seems to have some merit.

If it's only off slightly, try chaining back the leading mount and use the hydraulics to roll the lagging mount back into alignment before you cut it apart.

That's kind of my thought if I ever need to do this, except that one side will be just a shear bolt. It doesn't need to be all that strong because it's really only to keep both sides aligned when there's no attachment on. With the shear bolt subsequent repairs should only take a couple of minutes.

Thanks to all... I took your advice Wolf....cut the welds...rewelded the errant side...took 30 minutes cost $75. works perfectly...

not sure how the hell they let stuff like that get out of the factory..
