What kind of options are there for a FRONT mounted snow blower for a BX series tractor? seems there's a bunch for the 3 point, but not the front

Second: Nice to see another North Idaho member on here I'm in Kellogg and North Idaho Wolfman is near Sandpoint.
Now to your question. I have a BX24 and bought the Kubota front snowblower for mine. It works like a charm. Not sure I could be any happier.

Great to meet a couple more locals, I'm over by Silverwood. I wish I had some Tractor porn to post, but I'm out in eastern Montana working, and haven't seen it since it was delivered. a few more weeks and Ill be home for the year. I went ahead and ordered a pair of 2" rear wheel spacers and a pair of snow chains, and it has a front 60" snow blade. I just don't want to be caught with my pants down, and not have a blower, and need one. So far I don't know of any other maker for a front blower, so I may have to bite the bullet and order it from the dealer.First: Welcome to the neighborhood. I would recommend getting the factor blower for your tractor, no after market unit will even come close to fit, and look into a rear blade, it's a great combination!
Yes a snowblower is a requirement in these parts, just too much for a blade to deal with all the time.
Another recommendation is ROPS mounted LED lights, they throw a lot more light out there than the factor ones.
I'm headed to CDA tomorrow, I'll be happy to give it a test drive for you!

I was thinking since I'm gonna be home, a blade might keep it under control, if I keep up on it. I would think a dealer front blower is at least 3K? that's hard to swallow, if I can put on my boots and plow a few more times. You will be driving right by my place, I would say drop by if I was around. Why did you get a rear 3pt blower instead of a front? or was it a transplant from another rig?Yep your just down the road from me!

Being that I have and old B and an older L my options were limited to front mount attachments.
Just the front mount mid PTO kit for my L is $550 and I would have to make the frame for the lift, then you have to put a rear reduction box on it as the mid PTO runs twice as fast as the rear, just a bunch of work!
I got my three point blower for a killer price, it was at Ragan John Deere dealership in CDA, and they didn't like it because it wasn't green!
I couldn't keep up with the snow up here without a snowblower, But I'm in the snow belt, whatever doesn't stick to the ski resort lands in my yard, your in a better location and get less snow normally.
I didn't have a loader on my tractor last winter and so I had to swap between the blower and a blade, little bit of a pain but workable.
I should have my front blade built and ready to go before the snow flies so I will be able to have front and back workability this year.
I'm also working on converting my blower to hydraulic drive and making it a loader mounted blower, But I don't think that is in the cards for this winter.
well that all sounds thought out, and makes sense to me. I like the idea of working out in front with the forward mounted blower, but I don't like the extra expense. I still need to build a motorhome cover building when I get home, so I'm not sure if a forward blower is in the cards this year. It is supposed to be a heavy snow year too, so the meteorologists say, but how right are they on a normal basis? Ill try and get it all done with the 60" forward mounted snow blade. I did get 2" wheel spacers and good rear snow chains, so that should help.
One more question on front snow blowers to anyone that uses one. Is the Hydraulic rotator that much better than the elect one? and does anyone use the manual deflector? I have heard bad things about the electrical problems
Personally I'd stick with hydraulic, it may be more money in the beginning but in The long run, electric motors and water don't mix. You can also run a hydraulic tip deflector if you purchase the rear aux Hydr. Output kit and string the hoses to the back. ($300)

Yes they are. Let me back up......If the electric rotator is anything like the electric shoot deflector.....Yes...Yes it is. My electric shoot deflector was done after one season of use

I was driving thru Kellogg all the time, when I was working out there. Were done for this year now. it looks like you have all the extra goodies for your BX. I have been working on my tractor for two days straight now clearing brush and trees, trying to get a 40' x 24' motorhome/boat cover done before the snow flys.......... I underestimated the amount of trees that needed to be cleared. I spent 4 hours with the chainsaw(6 tanks of gas!)cutting them into 3' sections for the outdoor fire pit, then a few hours stuffing branches into the chipper shredder. I can barely move this morning. I'm gonna use the loader and push the rest of the slash off to the edge, and worry about it at a later date. The joy of having a new property, projects, projects, projects! I would be absolutely dead in the water without my little BX. I dug out 2 big stumps with the backhoe, and when I went to roll them into the loader by hand, I couldn't even move them. So grabbed a chain and wrapped it to the front, as it was too big to get into the loader bucket with the root ball. I'm looking forward to winter so I can relax and catch up on my reading or something, this retirement crap is killing me!
