Anyone know if another model uses a wider tire of the same height as what comes on the 7040 (9.5x24 R1) Im looking for something wider. Thanks in advance. David

It looks like you can do it with a change in wheel size, you'll have to find out if you can fit a set of 16.5 rims on it.
I have the C tires on the back of my L3450 and they have excellent flotation and killer traction, I don't even need chains in the winter.

No luck with my dealer or his Kubota rep. I know its been done cause I see the wider fronts on EU M7040's all over you tube. You would think that an engineer at Kubota already knows what would work. Might have to change the front and back tires to make the ratio work out id just like to know.

The UK site list the tires for a M7040 as:

Front. 320/85R20
Rear. 420/85R 30
They also get a 18 speed trans with top speed of 40 kph!

I also trying together a wider tire on stock rims, any progress?

Make sense. Also more weight on the 3 pt will unload the front axle some, less weight on the front tires...
More weight on the rear will increase compaction from the rear tires and it sounds like he is trying to reduce his soil compaction.

hi, you can go down to a 11.2x20 and this will match the ratio as your 9.5x24 to 16.9x30.
however, this is very expensive.
I too have a m7040 and hate the thin little 9.5. i am going with the 11.2x24 on mine. the fronts not only seem to sink to rapidly but also seem to ware very fast. i have about 1000 hours on mine, with loader. the backs are about 85-90% the fronts look like they have been through hell! i think they have the ratio for the front wheel spin to the back much greater than the maximum of 5% as most manufacturer's recommend. i checked the specks between the 9.5 and the 11.2 oval diameter. there is less than 4 in. difference, so i am just going to mount the larger 11.2.

That sounds reasonable size increase and still use the stock rims. Have you picked a tire that you plan on installing?
I normally run two wheel drive only on pavement so hopefully the increased rolling distance on dirt won't effect the drive unit. Stock it does seem the speed increase on the front axel is very high at 700 hours my fronts re showing a lot of damage.
Michelin has a few radial tires that may that fit and they claim 30 percent wider foot print. Have a call into them for advice.

hi, go with the Radial. I have them on a bigger tractor and what a difference! The way they grip and the comfort of the ride at the lower air pressures. They cost more money yes, but for the extra cost it is well worth it. Titan, Galaxy, any of the major brands. you will not regret it.

My dealer confirmed that he can get wide tires with rims from fleet sales at Kubota. I can by a set from the dealer in Windsor Ont who said they order all M7040 with the wide tire option for $1,190 per tire and rim mounted.

Should have pricing by monday for my local dealer for the US sourced wide tire set up. I cant recall the sizes but will updates when they quote.
Want to stay with the same overall rolling radius.

Good news, Miller tire Oh has tires and a local rim builder who is going to fab wider 20" front rims. Getting 360-70r 20 radial tires for $1650 vs the $2400 to purchase from dealer in Canada.
Going to order Monday and takes 3-4 weeks.
